I updated my computer a short while ago that wiped a lot of programs from my computer. I had a photoshop that was available to download for free, but can't remember what photoshop it was, anybody got any ideas? Thanks

Photoshop Express is one of the ONLY few free photoshop available.

I think Photoshop CC is the other but I am not sure. Was that what you were looking for?

Free TRIAL of other stuff included: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html

If you downloaded a pirated copy though , this conversation is over from my part, since pirated versions and piracy discussion in general is against the rules of this forum.

If not nevermind. I just state that neither me or anyone else here will provide you help on illegal software and stuff.

I recommend paint.net. Gimp is good too, but a little hard to use for me.

@Dreadshadow No it wasn't a pirate copy. It was defo photoshop, but an older version that was free to download. May have been cs2 or something like that. It was good as I used it with my drawing tablet, and found the layers very useful. I found it a lot better than gimp to manage, although that's just my opinion.

Photoshop CS2 is, sort of, "free", but not really. Since Adobe shut down their activation servers for it, they have a section on their site with CS2 suite keys and links to downloads, but ONLY IF you have purchased the software beforehand.

I recommend GIMP. There's tons of tutorials if you need to learn something or figure out how a function works, and it's very powerful - I do all my pixel art in GIMP.

The latest version of Gimp (2.8) is much closer to Photoshop with the way it works, so you may find that your previous experience isn't such a good indicator any more.  Though having said that, if it was CS2 that you were using, it's so old that its controls are very different from the latest Photoshop as well.

I believe you refer to CS2, which is sometimes indeed claimed as being free, but that's wrong. Adobe released keys keys because they shut down their activation server but only previous legal owners should be using this.

I'm going to join the crowd and recommend you GIMP.

To reiterate (and to ask people to stop posting falsehoods as if they were fact) ...

CS2 is NOT free. You must have purchased it to be able to use it. That's already been stated twice in this thread.

(for those who think I'm crazy and talking to no-one, this is in response to a post that has not been approved)

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 ever since the beginning of time and Photoshop 7 a little bit after.

I kind of wish these 2 programs were sold digitally and updated for new Operating Systems, much like RPG Makers 2000 and 2003 have been, to support the developers and of course have it legally.

I'm gonna have to settle for discs.

Gimp is good too, but i'm not nearly as quick ane experienced with it so I can't say much.

Paint.net and Gimp are your best bets although Gimp's UI is a mess then again the last time I used it was 4 years ago.  I haven't been in Photoshop since 2005 due to how costly it is, it's not suited for someone like me who does mostly sigs and while Paint Shop Pro is great and cheaper than photoshop, you do have to contend with a very nasty DRM that's on everything from Corel that can cause issues from time to time.

Graphics Gale free?  How good is that?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
