Just like you make any other project with a friend I guess?

I guess like this:
First of all you need a friend you'd make the game with.
Then both of you need to own a copy of that particular rpg maker, especially if both of you will be working in it.
The rest is communication, making maps, sharing them with each other and implementing them to the main project. Just like you do any other project with friends. One does one part, the other does the other part, then you merge these two parts together and connect them to the main project. Don't tell me you have never done any collaborative work.

Speak with your friend and decide who does what? Especially if one of you is an artist and the other a mapped there should be no problem at all.
Or are you asking how to copy files between computers? That is pure Windows and has nothing to do with the Makers.

If you have problems working as a team with your friend, you need to tell us what those problems are before we can tell you how to solve your problem.

Well, you could move into together and take turns at the game making process.
Otherwise, as stated, you could email eachother the stuff you have worked on together.. Let's say as a team, you divvy up the responsibilities. You make the maps, he/she does the events. You both write the dialogue and help revise each other's writing. You both choose what music goes where and kind of proof read eachother in terms of content. Do you like how an event plays out? Do they like that you put a patch of flowers in the middle of a clearing you designed?

When you work on a project you need to be honest with yourselves and each other. It is a bit of a talent that needs to developed in itself.

There are dozens of ways to copy and share files, but they require some basic knowledge of Windows and the Internet. If you don't have that knowledge about clouddrives, webhosting or similiar things, then you can't use them. And unfortunately we can't tell you here how to perform Windows operations, you have to search the web for beginner sites teaching Windows if you need help in that area.

With a subversion control software, such as https://tortoisesvn.net/ you both can work on the game at the same time. But since RPGMaker encrypts its files, I think you can't work on the exact same thing at the same time, like if both of you edit items, only one version will be saved. But if one person adds a weapon, and another person adds an armor, the versions will be merged.
I haven't tested it with RPGMaker so I can't confirm it works though

The only thing you can't share (copy) is the database files. Otherwise, character graphics, sounds, musics, tilesets, and all other archives that can be imported in the project can be shared. You can also "copy/paste" maps inside the editor from a project to another.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
