So I currently own all of the FSM assets for MV. However, I noticed they released the same assets for MZ. Are there any differences between the 2 versions, especially since MZ has better layer functionality?

if you check this site's shop (Degica) you'll only see one such package for both MV and MZ - that is the best way to check if there is a difference.

because it is a technical requirement for DLC on steam: a DLC can only be purchased if you own the main program, so if a set is only on MV it cannot be purchased by people who own MZ but not MV.
That is why packs that are capable to be used by both MV and MZ need to be twice in steam.

several of these even have a warning in their description not to purchase them twice if already owned from MV...

Nope, it's the same both for MV and MZ. Tilesets layer looks the same in both versions, even if there is better layer functionality in MZ.

Gotcha, thx for the clarification guys. Btw, in general, which source is preferred: Steam or Degica? Assuming assets are the same, of course.

Personally for assets I will chose which store offer cheaper price. But for software I prefer the main store, since I can get both Steam and Non Steam version.

So I was about to start a new thread for a slightly different question, but since it pertains to FSM, I'll post it here. Basically, I was wondering what the standard etiquette is in regards to using the premade maps found in the FSM demo project. They're simply gorgeous imo, especially the Seaside Cove (Rocky Cavern tileset).

That is an unrelated question (it has nothing to do with the difference between the MV and MZ packs), so should really have gone into a different thread, as your original question was answered.

What do you mean "etiquette"? The terms that come with the FSM packs state that you can use the FSM maps in your own project. You just can't use any of the "extras" that are included in the demo games.

Hmm, what do you mean by "extras"?

Also by etiquette, I'm not referring to the legalities of the EULA. What I mean is whether it's generally accepted in the RM community to use the example maps provided in the FSM packs.

Thank you, I didn't even realize a "Product Discussion" subforum existed lol.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
