full character set appearing during battle. help needed

Basically what the title says. I don't know what's up with the game. i created a character set in the character genorator for a boss battle, but whenever I try to put him in the battle his full character set appears on screen.

any and all help is appreciated, thanks.

A battler and a character image are not the same things. If you look at the RTP battlers you will see they are completely different to the character sprites.


If you want to use a character sprite as a battler image, you need to take the single cell from the spritesheet and save it on its own in the battlers folder.

Battlers by default use the full image that you set to it... It's not a sprite... so yeah either do what Shaz said, or if you want it animated, look for an animated enemy battler script

Ahhh okay that makes sense now.

I Have kind of sorted it out now but my hero battlers are spliting in two when they attack.

any ideas?

Post your battler pictures and links to the script you're using, otherwise we can't help you.

Hero? As in actor battlers? Actor's don't have battlers by default... what script are you using?

Splitting in two? Sounds like an animated battle system, and your spritesheet isn't set up correctly.


I'm moving this to RGSSx Script Support, because the battlers you use will depend on the script. Please add a link to your battle script.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
