Hey, guys!
I want to know how to remove the blur from the fullsize window of RPM Maker MZ.

Is there a way to do that or is this part of RPG Maker?

Because it doens't only effects the images, but the maps, characters and the font too.

I've moved this thread to MZ Support. Thank you.

This is not a bug. If you take a small picture and you photocopy it, at a scale of 200%, it is going to blur. It is because you are enlarging it (changing something that is meant to be displayed in a windowed size to fullscreen).

The only images that won't blur are vector images, and MZ uses png.

The images I used are the ones that come with RPG Maker, I didn't change the resolution or anything else.
I just pressed F4 to use the fullscreen and everything got blured.

Hello welcome!

Try including this in the HTML, inside the head tag:
HTML:
<style type="text/css">
canvas{
    image-rendering: pixelated;
}
</style>

It's a workaround using CSS, you might not like it, but it's good to test.

Good luck

I tried, and the maps and characters look amazing, but the images don't look good he, he, he...

It effects the fonts too.

Can I reverse this problem, maybe using Photoshop or something on the pixel arts?

This a map from my game on fullscreen.

Here is a comparison of the characters that I made. On the left is the character on the fullscreen. On the right is the character on the window mode.

Resolution.png
I think the character is the worse, especially when It moves.

I was only able to take the test now that I got home.
The charsets are also very strange, because the pixels are with different sizes depending on the resolution of the player's monitor:

For now I don't know how to help. It's probably the same problem I've seen in other threads.

I figured this out If you press F3, then F4, the images, characters and mapa looks perfect!!!

I don't know what F3 really does or How to start the game this way, because I know the players won't press this bottons to play.

Its a common misunderstanding on what causes it actually. If you go full screen the monitor resolution is still the same so it has to fill that space with everything somehow. So say your monitor is set to 1920 x 1080 and your game is 816 x 624. What will happen is this:

1920 / 816 = 2.35. So for every pixel you drew it now needs to take up 2.35 pixels. You can't do 0.35 of a pixel though and that is where blur and stuff usually comes from as it does best approximation of the 0.35 of a pixel. This could be merging it with the next pixel (which can get ugly results), or going 2 pixels for 1 then 3 pixels for one which can look distorted. Same will also happen with the height too, it will go 1080 / 624 = 1.73, so you will get an even different distortion in the height.

But you can't do partial pixels. That is not allowed by defintion of resolution.

I think I managed to solve the problem using these methods:
  • screen.availWidth
  • screen.availHeight
Reference:
Your game starts in full screen or the player must press F4, if you are using a plugin for this please put the link here.
In my case I made a Plugin rewriting part of "rmmz_scenes", I couldn't use the Fullscreen attribute in the package.json file, it works, but the game screen is hidden.

I tested it and it worked. See the attachment, my monitor resolution is 1366x768 as I use a rather old notebook.

Don't you just hate it when you get a high level armor only for it to look like a metal plated bikini on your female character?? Seriously. How can that protect you??? Enemies can hit the squishy parts! :kaosigh:
