Hello everyone!

Rencently I purchased a copy of RPG Maker VX Ace from Steam, and I was wondering if it's possible to add a fullscreen option like the recent changes made to RPG Maker 2k/2k3, using a GDI rendering mode instead of the standar DirectDraw (wich causes lag and some problems in newer computers), and give an option to the user to change between those two, use bilinear filtering, stretched image, irregular pixel size and save the settings.

This would require the disable of the F1 menu, which has the default fullscreen option or, like 2k/2k3, make a totally new menu for this purpose and include the sound, and input options.

(Here's is a screenshot of the new 2k3 menu):

I know that RGSS3 has some limited functions, but I heard tha using scripts with DLLs or another resources, makes possible things like this.

Thanks in adance!

[Alt]-[Enter] should cause Ace to go into fullscreen unless you added scripts that broke the engine - that had always been the case.

To remove the black borders caused by the display driver, you'll have to use a script to increase the screen size to the maximum of 640x480 (can be done by several scripts, including yanfly's core engine)

Yes, I know that, In fact, I'm using Yanfly's Core Engine Ace to make a resolution of 640x416, but I'm not asking for that.

By default, RPG Maker VX Ace forces the fullscreen through changing the resolution of your computer. If I'm not mistaken, that's the older DirectDraw function, which cause lag and another problems in newer machines using an HD resolution or some Windows versions (like 8 or 8.1). My question is if it's possible to change the rendering mode using a script, and give an option menu to the user to change between DirectDraw or GDI Rendering (GDI Rendering it's a new option added to the English version of RPG Maker 2k/2k3, which works like the fullscreen option in MV, pressing the F4 key).

In my personal opinion, that is extremely unlikely - Ace is now legacy and is not expected to get any updates to my knowledge, and to change the rendering method would require either a replacement of the default dll, or a completely new graphic API redirecting the engine.

The first can't be done by the community without breaking the EULA, and the second is a lot of work when most scripters have already moved on to MV.

That RM2K(3) still gets updates is a special case that doesn't apply to Ace.

It's a shame to read that, VX Ace was a powerful engine before MV...

I know about this script:

But the thing is, this fullscreen mode makes the pixel size irregular without a bilinear filter, and the game looks ugly in a 1366x768 resolution, and I don't know if there is an option to enable the bilinear filtering using Fullscreen++.
