So, today I bought the resource pack, and I was wondering. On page B, there is a holo whiteboard thingy.. next to it are some drawings I think should be on that thingy. Problem is, they are on the same page. meaning they will replace eachother.

Any way to get the drawings onto the board? Because it looks kinda bland without..

Edit: Also on page C, there is this glass thing? What is it used for? Ceiling? Floor?

If you put the board onto your map as you put your tiles by "drawing" it, and then the writings as an event, then it should work.

You have only two basic map layers (1 for A tiles, second for B to E-Tiles), but you also have the event layer. If you need to place a tile above the B-layer, then place an event there - the event can use Tile-graphics as an alternative to sprite fraphics for exactly this reason. The pictures are below all sprite files in the list.

I've moved this thread to product support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Yes, you would need to put those tiles as an event graphic to cover them. You do the same with most objects in TileE as well.

As for the glass, they're supposed to be walkways, a lot of people like having this starry/space background with a transparent walkway covering it.

Thanks!

Edit: Hey. You probably own the pack.. Could i send you a screencut with some watermark thingy over it and you could tell me what that tile is supposed to be?

Or could you tell by my explanation:

Beside the glass is some orange/black block thingys (page C) What is that? Cable boxes? (Looks like it..)

I created the tileset :)

The most distinctive feature that actually matters about the tiles, are whether or not they're ground objects, or wall objects. Anything else is fair game. If you think those are cable boxes, then they are cable boxes, I am not going to tell you otherwise. Most of the tiles are ambiguous, and you can make up what they are yourself, as it is your game after all.

However, if you really want some of my explanations, here's an image someone else made because they wanted to know what those objects were:

1. Track for the tram (the middle part repeats). In case you want the thing to move, and it needs some tracks below it.

2. No idea either, it's decorative. It can be used as a button if you want.

3. That's a pillar, the middle can repeat.

4. Yup, trashcan.

5. Decorative laserbeams. Or a shiny radiator.

6. Also a trashcan.

7. Just some grille/vents/drains for the floor.

8. A glass pane walkway. You can make it stack above whatever you want, the middles repeat (left, right, up and down, and the middle is just transparent white).

9. A sort of conveyer belt, or just another block to fill your space up with :p the middle repeats.

10. All metal boxes/cases! Use them however you see fit.

11. I forgot the word for it, but it's one of those things you put in front of a window, usually to get shade from the sun, but lots of shops do it.

12. Vases and a bowl for on a table.

13. Stacked trays (look at the burger and fries on a tray).

14. ... Wii? :p Whatever electronic you wish it to be.

15. $$$!

16. Newspaper box (the second one is surrounded by excess newspaper).

17. Mouse trap with cheese

18. Treat it like an alien gun.

19. Just two metal cans.

Wow, that was great! Also, I thought you made the pack, good job getting official recognition (Even though I have seen your name around for a while anyways :) )

Edit: Hehe, I do care what objects are. I am OCD like that.

Don't double post, please edit your previous post if you've got something to add.

Again, let me stress that it doesn't eventually matter what I say what these tiles are because they're sci-fi, and no one knows what it is. You can come up with your own definition. If those vertical objects look like lamps to you, then they're lamps. If they look like laser guards to you, then they're laser guards. 3,4, 5 and 6 are just glowing arrows on the floor (if the player walks through it, they'll be half transparent), 7 is a latch and 8 is an open latch, 9 are holes/drains in the floor, 10 is a bunch of wiring in the floor.

This may be, but it also helps to get an idea of what the creator is thinking when resources are made. It gives us a sort of starting point in what to use them for. Your screenshot guide will definitely help with that.

That's not to say they can't be used for other "creative" designs, though. The more people use your resources in sample maps, the more people will be able to nod their heads and get creative ideas of their own.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
