Ok, so I though about having the characters gain skills in 2 ways for my game: Leveling up and by reaching 100 TP.
Having my characters gain skill trhough leveling up is mad easy. But I'm not sure about having them gaining skills trhough TP. There would be 3 type of skill gained trhough TP
-Skill/Magic: The type of skill you actually use in battle, you know the typical ''Cure'', ''Double Strike'' or ''Fireball''
-Passive skills: Those typical permanent buffs. Think of the Augments in Final Fantasy XII: in that game, once you pay a certain number of Licence points, you get stuff like permanent rise in max HP or your potion heals more HPs
-Equipable skills: Instead of the accessory slot in my characters equipment, I was thinking of putting some equipable skills (Either action or passive): Like one character could have access to his ultimate move only if he equpis the skill, or he could have a skill that raises his/her HP by 50%
However, here's the catch: I would like every characters learn their own skillset that way and have them learn them in order (Pretty much like in Chrono Trigger) For example:
-I would like my Monk learn (These skill are only example, not the actual name of the skills): Strenth + 10 (Passive skill) > Meditation (action skill) > HP+10% (Equipable skill) > Focus (Action skill) In that order every time he reaches 100 TP, then once he gets the skill, the TP resets.
Is there a way to do that without events?
There is one way I thought could work is that everytime you get 100 TP you get a character exclusive tradable item, and each time you get that item, you go trade that items to someone for the next skill you are to learn (In a way, that could also add a challenge, in which you could simply NOT trade your items for skills)
I will try experiencing, but is there an easy way to learn skills trhough TP (as in not too much script manipulation?)
ALSO
Something that would be nice is an AP system, like most Final fantasies. Where once you get enough AP, you get a new skill at the end of that battle, that could work too, if anyone has an idea how to do it.
