Introduction
My Breath of Fire 2 inspired mini game now has an MV version. This is not a plug-and-play plugin and requires a lot of setup!

Features
This plugin adds a new fishing mini game to your project similar to that of Breath of Fire 2’s. This plugin is not plug-and-play and requires setting up. It may be difficult for new users.

– Customise a range of fish attributes to change how they behave such as bait they eat, speed, difficulty to reel in (and more)
– Customise each fishing spot’s backgrounds and music
– Add specific fish or objects or randomize them for each fishing spot. Use eventing to add quest items to catch from the water.
The demo contains examples of some things you can do.

You’ll notice that the RTP doesn’t come with many useful fishing icons (to use for rods and baits), and there’s not a whole lot of fish for you to use included in the demo – you’ll need to source or make your own resources to use.


How to Use
- Copy the "GALV_Fishing.js" file into your project's /js/plugins/ folder.
- Activate plugin using the 'Plugin Manager'
- Create a new folder: /img/fishing/ and copy images from the demo to use as templates
- Read the help file and examine the demo to learn how it works

2016-12-25 - Version 1.3 - fixed a bug where item wouldn't be gained with a custom message. Fixed a bug where static "fish" (eg. chest) wouldn't sink to the bottom if pulled up and line breaks
2016-11-21 - Version 1.2 - fixed a bug when fishing from a vehicle
2016-11-12 - Version 1.1 - fixed a bug that the fish item wasn't actually obtained when catching the fish.

Holy crap!


I've literally been eventing this EXACT fishing mini-game for the last two months! I've had to use a ton of different plugins to pull this off. I'm glad to have something a little more stable and clean. Thank you!


Coincidences like this makes me believe RPG Gods exist. :D

Updated to version 1.1 fixing a bug where you did not receive the item designated in the fish caught.

This is beautiful @Galv. I may not ever use it, but it;s wonderful to know it exists in case I do!! And I kinda feel like BoF2 had the best fishing system in any RPG I've ever seen. :)

Updated to v.1.2 - fixed a bug when fishing from a vehicle caused the fisher sprite not to show.

I said I probably wasn't going to use this.. but I'm going to check out the demo tomorrow and see if I can be swayed otherwise. ?

its not compatible with Yanfly Plugins : YEP_Core Engine + YEP_BattleEngineCore + YEP_X_ActSeqPack1.....

Those plugins are not really related this this one and after testing in my demo they work without any issues.


Could you please provide more details on the bug? "It's not compatible" doesn't give me any info that I can help you with :(

Unfortunately I don't believe this is an issue with the fishing plugin but rather something else is going on.

I found my two problems:


If i start fishing without "VE_FogAndOverlay", no problems. If i start with "VE_FogAndOverlay", then I have problems.


My next problem is with "YEP_CoreEngine" Screensize.


Screen Width  = 1200


Screen Height = 624

1. I'm not sure what problems you have with VE_FogAndOverlay (you didn't say) but for a compatible fog/overlay plugin you could try:

2. Your next problem with screensize is that you need to look at the plugin settings. There are settings to change x,y positions for the menu, fisher graphic, etc.


You will need to change them from their current values because you screen size is bigger...


You will also need to edit or create your own graphic for the fishing backgrounds to match your screen width.

It looks like the plugin isn't compatible with Victor's fog and overlay. The other two shouldn't be an issue.

But i dont know that pixel for grid Frame
like 1 icon= 32 or 1 map grid = 48
i want create some big fish can you help me?

(Now it's working because i remove boss HP and animated text :()

You can make the fish graphics as big as you like as long as each frame is the same size.
