In the Magic Shard plugin settings, make the "Background Image" setting false and it will work.

Hey Galv, are you still thinking about making it possible that passive skills can be learned from linked shards? MoogleX just brought out a passive skill system too, and it would be lovely to have skills in the linked shard too :)  

But anyway, I love your scripts <3 This is actually the first time I went active in a RPG Maker forum, and it's totally crazy to see the fast progress scripters make. Gives me the feeling that I want to do something for the community too, but I'm just an artist, haha :) Stay awesome Galv! :D

Does equipping 2 specific adjacent shards only add additional skills or can it grants bonus stats ?

For example, Shard x grants 100 HP while Shard y grants 100 MP ; is it possible to make the combination (the fact they're adjacent) of both grants something more than just these base stats ? Just ike it would with a whole new abiliity but with a bonus stat instead :)

Currently only adds additional skills. No plans to add additional stats with the links at this time, though it would be cool.


I would like passive skills working, so I shall look into compatibility for those plugins one day :)

I have a very good idea for that, I think, lol. Look at MoogleX Passive Skill system. He uses "dummy weapons" for the passive skills, so the skill has more options in stats and such. So if Galv would make it compatible with it, you could make a link shard, that would learn you a passive from MoogleX Passive System, that gives you "HP+" if you equip to HP Shards as an example. I hope you get what I mean. Try to look at MoogleX's system, maybe you understand then fully :D

Hmmm. It seems even empty note tags cause the problem. Not sure why but a clean project with no skill notes, there is no error. But in my main build where Ive removed the note tags, there is an error. If I place the shard note tag, the error stops. Seems that if there was ever a note there, it remembers. Maybe a blank string in the JSON file? Either way... I'm sure you'll fix it.

a bit like the" GARMENT GRIDS "Final Fantasy X-2 ???

That's a lot of work to make the plugin function how you describe and I don't have plans to do that anytime soon, sorry. It is a good idea, though

I love this plugin, but I am admittedly not nearly as adept at all of this as I would like to be. I'm having trouble getting anywhere beyond setting the graphics for each actor's orb image. I can't seem to figure out how to get the slots to show up or how to create the individual shards. I've created items for this, but not sure if the Item Type (Key item, Regular, Hidden item, etc) really plays in.  I've been through the "help" writeup, but still a bit lost. Would anybody be willing to take pity on a technologically useless newb? I haven't delved into linked shards yet. Honestly still experimenting. If not, no worries. I'm sure I can get it if I keep plugging away at it.

In addition to the help file, I made the demo. Open it up and have a look at it, see the examples I included and then view the events to see how I did it. Keep plugging away :)

When I go to open the Game file, I receive an error that says, "Unable to read file Classes.json". Other occasions give a similar message for Actors.json.
