Galv's Use item on event script error

Hi.

I'm currently using this script, link: http://galvs-scripts.com/galvs-use-item-on-event/

It seems to work great, except for when I place the event that I want the player to interact with on a wall, I get line 160 error.

I know that the creator, Galv, have said that you cannot use the script with events that are above or below, they have to be the same as the player, but I don't understand why putting the event on a wall would break the script.

Just to clarify: The event works when I have it on the floor like a normal event, but as soon as I place it on the wall (because it's a painting) the script crashes.

If there is no fix for this, then I guess I just have to remove the script and go with the normal way, but that would be a real shame.

Please show screenshots of your event, and what the tileset settings of the wall tile are.

The tileset settings are the defaults (not using custom tileset atm) so the settings are Passage = X and the rest are nil. (If i misunderstood, please correct me)

It's just all so weird to me, cause the event works exactly as it should when on the floor like if it was a chest or person, but as soon as I move it up 1 tile so it's on the wall, it crashes.

Have you configured the script settings correctly and made sure that none of the switches and variables have double uses?


Can you give us a screenshot of the error message when the crash happens?


Which tile did you use as a wall tile? Even if you use a default tileset, it would still help to know which tile is the problematic wall tile and which setting it has.


Have you any other script installed?

Well, I don't see how the switches/variables could cause the problem when the problem occur from moving the event, but no, they don't have double uses.

I am using other scripts, and I've tried moving this script to the top and to the bottom, and neither seem to help. I even tried to see if it works to have stuff on the walls in Galv's demo, and it does, so it's definitely something I've done wrong.







The Basic and Step scripts are made by Victor Sant, if that matters.

Sorry, I have a new development: It appears that the event does work on the wall, the crash is coming from facing the middle of the map and trying to use an item.



If you face this spot and try to use the script, the game crashes. That is so weird.

I've tried running around to see if the script crashes anywhere else, and cant really say I've gotten any results on that.

Starting to feel like I'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone...

I found the problem by myself. I had an event that placed another event on that spot, so the script doesn't know how to handle events that aren't switched on.

This could possible be a problem later on. Any ideas if you can fix so the game doesn't crash because of an event that has a switch but isn't on?

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
