First off, please excuse grammar or spelling mistakes since english is not my native language!

Like the title says, i've been working on a game for quite some time now using the RPG Maker MV on Steam.
I bought myself a new and better computer and transferred my game files from my old PC to my new one via USB.
From the surface nothing has changed but when i start my game the whole menu seems to be broken.
When i'm inside the menu for example and try to select a weapon it is not possible for me to do so because it keeps switching between the weapons that i want to choose but also the categories like armors, items, weapons etc., so when i try to select a weapon i get randomly sent to the armors or potions instead...
Also all the items have no effect anymore if i use them ingame and the gear doesn't add stats to the player either..
It's really awkward because i've changed nothing in the plugins or the database... everything seems to be normal.. but ingame everything is broke..
I'm mainly using Yanfly Plugins and everything worked just fine before i transferred the game files.
Maybe transferring the game files via USB to another PC broke the game?
I will add some screenshots for better understanding.
I hope someone's got an answer to this or maybe has dealt with this problem in the past as well?
Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Is the RPG Maker on your new PC a different version?

No, transferring a project will NOT break it it eine correctly.

You either missed some files or they were damaged by the transfer, and you'll just have to go back to the original and copy them again - after you find out which files.

It sounds as if one of the files that broke is the one containing plugin configuration, because by default there item core creates variant items where the true value is +-5 of the database value.

ty for your answer
i did copy and paste the whole game file, so there is no way i missed some files except if for some reason the files were not copy pasted by the system.
I already copy pasted it multiple times but when i started the game it was always already broken.
Is there any safe way of getting the files to another PC without the risk of losing or breaking some during the process..

how exactly did you do the copying process?
and what was the exact path you copied from and where exactly do you copy to? (full paths from drive letter to index.html)

i copy pasted the whole file of my game from my old PC onto a USB flash drive and from the USB flash drive into the games folder of RPG Maker MV on my new PC.

i'm not sure but i believe the overall steam folder on my old PC was on the C: Harddrive and now its within the D: Harddrive.

I asked for the full path for a reason, the drive letter does not tell me of the half dozen possible problems.
And the projects should never have been inside the steam folders if they were (there is a reason why the default path goes to the user directory).

So please give the full path with all foldernames where they had been on the previous computer and where they are now.

Well i fixed it now anyways.

The reason was that for whatever reason there was no games folder inside the Steam path of RPG Maker MV, the game i made was saved in another folder somewhere at the same harddrive.
I just created a game folder inside the Steam path and copy pasted the game there and now everything works fine.

Thank you for your help.

@Escanor
get that project out of there NOW.
I wondered why you were talking about a single game file while the game project in reality is a folder with hundreds of files - what you copied is NOT your project, it was a cloudcopy automatically done by steam. And that is the reason why it didn't work correctly - you never copied your true project files at all.

and there are several problems with the way how steam cloud works...

As a suggestion, make a new project just for comparison and select the filepath to be something like d:\gameprojects\projectname.
then check that folder with windows - that is how the project should look like.
And you need to store your project files in the same way unless you want to risk loosing all your work.

No, you misunderstood me i wasnt talking about one single game file but about the game folder with hundreds of files.
And yeah what i copied was my project.
But it doesnt matter anyways, i fixed it, everything is working now, no need to continue this.
