I have successfully deployed our demo for Windows without any real issues. I do wish that we could export the game and have unused files removed, or encrypt our files, however apparently we are running into issues with this working with additional directories and assets that are required by third party plugins. At any rate, our main issue is that when we deploy for OS X, and then make available for download, we get an error that states "Game is damaged and can't be opened. You should movie it to the Trash".

Before zipping it up and sending it to our server for download, the game opens fine. I can even take the deployed game.app and put it on a thumb drive and transfer it manually. This will work without a problem. I feel like this is a permission issue, which should have been solved by me making it a .dmg or .zip, however I cannot get past this. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I will likely open another post to see if there are any answers for encrypting the data, while still having third party plugins and assets involved. Thanks!

RMMV
1) there are options to register files needed for a plugin - if the option to exclude unused files remove important files, then that is because the plugin writer did not register the files he/she needs inside the plugin, like described in the help file. Ask the plugin writer for a correct update of the plugin with those options and you will be able to exclude unused files as usual.

2) can you test if the same happens if you don't compress the game.app? It might be that the compression codec is different from the one used on MacOS.

Especially if you can transfer the game by USB and it will work on a Mac, I suggest doing that, compressing it on the mac and then upload the file that was created on the Mac instead of one created by Windows. There are differences in the filesystem between Windows and Mac that may cause problems otherwise.

I've moved this thread to MV Deployment. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

This is what I have been able to do to get the exported game.app file to work on my Mac. Each time I would try to open it after compressing it and downloading back to the same Mac that RPG Maker MV deployed it to, I would get "Game is damaged and can't be opened. You should movie it to the Trash". I was positive this was a permissions issue, but it may be a Mac Signature issue on the app itself. This maybe getting changed or becoming an issue once it has been downloaded. At any rate, this is how I was able to make it so that I was able to open the .app and play the game.

1. Open the System Preferences. There are two approaches:
- Click on the System Preferences icon in the Dock
- Selecting Apple Menu > System Preferences.

2. Next open the Security & Privacy pane by clicking Security & Privacy. (Make sure that the General tab is selected.)

3. Click the icon labeled "Click the lock to make changes" in the bottom-left corner.

4. Enter your username and password into the prompt that appears and click Unlock. (If you have no password, this can be left blank).

5. Under the section labeled "Allow applications downloaded from:", select the option "Anywhere". On the prompt that appears, click "Allow From Anywhere."

6. Click the lock icon.

7. Click apply.

For us to get those out to other users we will just have to go through process of signing the app officially and this should prevent the issue from happening to others who are trying to try out the demo.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
