I work on my game from 7pm till 9PM m-f and most of the day on weekends.
The past few days I have managed to get 4 maps up and going and I have started to create events for things like crafting. I have started experimenting with the database to set up attacks, enemies and what not. Currently researching the use of small numbers, quest design and so on. (as my various threads state).
Oh, we're having sprites for it now? Now this is turning out fun.
Want us to just post in this topic when we have an update? I'm gonna post a week's worth of work on a single page in my blog updating it each day to add the new day and posting an overall every Sunday, but I'll link to it from here certainly if you're keeping it all up to date and stuff.

Archeia!! While I have you here, for days like today... should I post twice in this thread? Or just post once a day, and update that day's post? I got some work in this morning, but will also be doing my 5-5:30.
Blog Post
Hello!Got started a bit early today. Had 45 minutes to spare before work, but I was hardly awake, so I worked on a town map. I've got a general layout decided, but I'm revising and re-revising as I go. Once I'm happy with what I've got in the editor, I'll be parallaxing... mostly to add some minor details and tweaks... but also for some pre-fabbed houses. I want to minimize my use of parallaxing [it's a huge time sink for me]... so they won't be completely parallaxed. It'll more be icing on the cake. Touch-ups, and some bigger things... like houses/caves etc.
I really want to put my all into these towns, as they'll largely be the "set" for the game. I need to find a balance, as to not over or under saturate any given town with tasks and stories. I'm thinking of how the towns will affect each other. I don't want every town to be a vacuum, independant of the rest. How I'll do that, beyond quest tie-ins and such, I'm not entirely sure yet. I'll also start thinking up currencies and reading up on economy [WIKIWIN]. I'd like to have money changers, exchange rates etc. Definitely going to be a big undertaking, so hopefully I can pull through.I'll be updating once more this evening, in or around 5:30pm MST.
So, I managed to get some time to think at work today. Started putting together an idea for the currency of the game, and jotted down some lore while I'm at it. I hope that money plays a big part in the game, and I'm thinking up ways to make it a bit more interesting.
Varied Lands:The Wanderer's Guide to AirmohrChapter 1.
Concerning Government
Excerpt / Airmohr is governed by Elders who are, every winter, appointed [or re-appointed] by the people. Though greatly respected, they have no true rule. Only influence. They serve as the advisers of the people. The Elders are responsible for designation, distribution, and the destruction of Airmohr's curreny.
Concerning Currency
Excerpt / Airmohr's currency is valuable not because of some arbitrary decree... but because of the Traversive Potential1... often shortened to Trapo or Po. The Elders meditate on Trapo and project it into slates, which are distributed as currency. Each person's magic is a fingerprint of sorts2. Because of this, it can be determined [as is required by law, during every transaction] if currency is from the elders, or if foreign currencies/fraud is involved3. Trapo is bound to the very atoms of an item. Because of this, breaking a slate in two would result in two slates each half the value of the original uncleaved slate4.
Marginalia
1Traversive Potential is a potential energy that can exist inside, and outside, of our universe... though never at the same moment. It is a potential that traverses the aperture between universes.
2To expect a person's use of Trapo to be, in any way, the same as another's is as foolish as expecting two river smoothed stones the be the same. Though two stones may have similar, or identical, mineral content... the shape, texture and size will vary. And in the same way that one stone may rust, and the other grow mold, so may a person's use of Trapo exhibit differences caused by external forces.
3All persons making a transaction are expected to verify that any currency traded is proper currency. Some have the ability to sense a familiar Trapo in the same way a dog can recognize an ally by scent. Most, however, rely on instruments to measure this.
4It is never encouraged to alter a slate, for any reason... though some shadier folk have no qualms dealing in altered slate.
Summary of today's doings:
1. Researched currency, economy etc. Started finalizing some lore, and getting some ideas started regarding currency and it's role in the game.
2. As a result of [and related to ] item #1, I got inspired to get work on some plot points.
3. Continued work on my town map. Very frustrating... though hopefully I can be happy with it soon enough, and start on parallaxing.
Action Items!! In no particular order, with no particular rush
-Brainstorm on what I'd like the lock-picking game to be
-Continue researching economy, and figure out where I want to go with it in the game
-Look into a way to mirror amount of currency as an item, and the other way around
Today I have a few spare minutes before work - gonna do some battle formula fooling around and making new animations in Flash CS6 since it can out put sprite sheets now

Hmm can you elaborate? But if you updated let's say October 24 then just edit your previous post. But if you're doing work today for October 25 for example since you have no time for october 25, then you're free to post twice!

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
