Oh, this game looks fun,

how do you know where you are aiming?

Thanks glad you think so!

The aiming auto locks onto the closest target in a 90 degree cone of the player facing, i plan on adding aiming retciles that change based on the current weapins ammo load out to better present the aiming arc. :)

I'm using a 3D program for my maps and sprites, putting them as paralaxes, and using Yanfly's regions restrictions for passability. I'm just trying to figure out the best angles to render my map images. If it's too much of an angle, then the perspective doesn't work with RPG Maker (being 2D and all).

The third screenshot is the player's view when he turns left in the second screenshot. I want to keep the front view battles, but want to figure out a way of animating the enemies.

@Lycanimuss, wow honey, yo map looks really good! Often stuff that smells like grimdark makes me throw up a little, but yo map jus' feels ancient and, umm, homely I guess, in a weird way? Nice job sweetie! :kaoluv:

All I got in the way of critique is mebbe make the dais at the top of the map smaller - or make the crypt bigger? The size difference botherin' me a little! :kaoswt::biggrin:

I haven't posted anything in here since forever, so here's the redone Mountain Village Longhouse. I completed this a month or two ago, but since @Lucidia is showing off their maps made with the Ancient Dungeon tileset in their profile posts, two can play at that game. (Ignore the double main characters, this screenshot is 2 spliced together)

@cthulhusquid, looks real cozy, honey! :wub Makes me wanna come in from the cold and huddle by the fire, mebbe drink some spiced wine with the chief's men-at-arms.

The only thing really botherin' me is the solid blocks of wall at the top and the left, 'cuz you don't really build a log-house like that... but I guess I can overlook it, becauuuse... JRPG mapping conventions. Still, if you can make it so the walls are no thicker than one tile everywhere, that'd be sweet!

Thanks for the feedback, that's the vibe I was going for! I made those parts thicker because I couldn't think of what to put in those spaces, but I'll try to think of something.

I guess in the room with the stairs, you could jus' put more things like arrows and boxes and stuff? Storing things always important, a wealthy house like this gonna need a lot of things.

As for the part at the top, umm, you could make that into two separate walls with a narrow space in between, but I admit that gonna look a bit awkward... but mebbe if you just enlarged that room with the fur on the floor, that'd do? But then you'd hafta think what to put in the empty space again. Maybe more boxes? Or firewood. A house like this gonna need a lot of firewood!

How's it now? I moved the tanning room where the stairs used to be, made the bedrooms up top slightly bigger, moved the stairs down to the right, and added a small fireplace for the guards. I also fixed some of the light sources as they were using torches instead of candles.

So a while ago I wanted to make a parody of Pokemon Red/Blue but the kicker is that it was a parody of the beta version of Pokemon back when it was known as CapuMon or Capsule Monsters and this is reflected in how there is an extra town and how the Indigo League building is portrayed. This map is unfinished but the general layout has been finished so you can see where there are routes and where there is towns.

Map002.png

A Thing to know is that due to the 255x255 map size limit Cerulean City and the route above it has been condensed and Bill's House isn't present due to being at the top corner.

The game that was supposed to use this map never materialized any further than this map and only exists as a map to test a dynamic music switching system using switches to swap between town and route music.

Hello! This is a puzzle room in my game River's Tales.
The light system is off in this screenshot, because im trying to adjust some conflicts and the chars are just for testing, i need to make specific chars for the mains and monsters (but i will use Time Fantasy for the NPCs) =)

I've been messing around with vertical underground caves lately. I'm not used to this mapping style yet, so a single map takes me quite a while haha.
I took a few progress screenshots

Still feels a little empty in places, so I'll probably put some more decor in it. Also need to add the enemies, lighting effects, and of course, the loot :yswt:

I just wanted to share some maps I've been practicing on. Most are made with RTP/edits and I think there is 1 made with an FSM tileset. These are the first maps I've ever made, any feedback is appreciated. I don't know if I'll ever use these as I'm just trying to get an idea of how to map.

Pls don't mind the unfinished mountains on one of the world maps and the unfinished trees on another (having trouble figuring out the tree shadows with the FSM tileset)

EDIT: There is one I can't get to upload it says the file size is too large for the server. Its smaller than a couple I've already attached, so IDK how to get it on here. I've tried using the snipping tool as well.

The top trees look a little funky, especially with that messed up shadow spot.

But I likes em anyway!

Keep getting that game make human. The world shall soon be yours!

Great Diety in the sky, please remind me again why I embarked on a mission to modify/create all new tiles for my project...

At least it's starting to look like something. Just a few thousand to go.

Those are really, really nice looking walls! I also love the drooping plants and the chunks taken out on top. That big rock is also super nice, with how it looks like it's actually part of the ground instead of on top. :kaoluv: (I'm a big sucker for realistic scenery)

Finds notes for an old side project... Oh, that's right, the two tracks that sounded really cool and gave inspiration for the big bad in that game... Spends day working on cutscene from old notes, looks okay, now lets slot in the first track... um... I did have those tracks??? It was a year or so ago but I did buy them didn't I?
