@Sievnn: I would get rid of the skillbar while your cutscenes are going on, it takes away from the conversation. A script call within the event: PearlSkillBar.hide ,would work just fine.

@Luchino: That is a very nice looking map!

sievnn, i'm really not sure what that has to do with game map screenshots :\

there was like 0.3 seconds of yet another completely barren uninteresting map in that video, but that's about it
Huh? it was a 2 minutes side view battle video?

I was not pointing at the map , I was pointing on the game play if you haven't noticed.

But you can looks at the puzzle game play here :

Do you think I should add more enemies?

What do you think of the side view battle game play?

(this one pointing at side view battle system not a map).

Hmmm...

Honestly, it plays like a typical side-view battle system. Attack + skill = destroy basically. You're going through the menus so fast, i can't quite tell what you're selecting. The dark screen tone doesn't help much either.

You should try to spice up the scripts you have - such the Moghunter ones. It was obvious you were using them. ;_;

The battle system doesn't interest me TOO much. My apologies. ^^;;

What do you suggest I should add to it to make it more interesting? :)

besides lowering the dark tone.

An in-editor screenshot of a new map I'm doing in Harem. The feel was sort of a plains area with a cathedral to the northeast.

This is using Mack's Tileset, by the way.

@Arin: It looks alright, but pretty square and too clean-cut. Add some variation along the rock walls (different heights and some outcroppings) to give it a more dynamic look.

@Arin I agree with Thalzon, it would also look better if you added some patches of tall grass. It makes it look like natural.

I've had a lot of critique about this so I revised the room.

Just prototyping for my next game...

Gorgeous but how come most of the people who do greatly art games never release them =P

Now look at your game. What does your battle revolves around? All I see is spamming spells. What makes this battle system different then the others? As for as I can tell, this is Vanilla.

Now here is all my WTF moments while watching this.

- You have two enemy HP bars script working at the same time. WTF

- One picture has a background, the other does not, one picture just shows the bust and is transparent. WTF

- Am I really gonna see all those pictures and screen flashing, screen shaking, annoying sound effect every time I use a common spell? WTF

- Those pictures are a different art style then the face set pictures...WTF

- He didnt even resize the battle result script. WTF

- I just wasted my time trying to help this guy make his game better...WTF
This was posted by chrome on the other thread and I just want to say thank you and I am working on making it better :)

@Sievnn: I like the sideview battle system. I'm not too familiar with how they work and all the different scripts available BC I use ABS in my game but, to me, it is visually appealing (except it shouldn't be so dark). The only suggestion I would make is to change the parallax to something that goes with the sprites better. They look out of place.

@Arin: I must also agree with Thalzon and Jarrad: The cliff areas should be make to look more natural and some tall grass would help to improve the grassy areas.

@Mr Big T: I think you should not use the ceiling tiles like that and instead use wall tiles around the door area to make it look better. It looks now as if the door is laying flat across the ceiling.

Thank you but visually do you believe I should remove the actor pictures from appearing (while selecting the skills..etc)?

@Sievnn: If you want to make your battle system look more unique and less like a copy-paste moghunter script, why do you use GIMP/ Photoshop to edit or even create your own HUDs and bars. Some tend to find the colours too vibrant and colourful and bright so they either edit the HUDs or make new ones entirely, I think the look of your battle system would benefit by using your own HUDs. I believe GIMP is free (correct me if I'm wrong) and Adobe are giving away Photoshop CS2 for free~

Eh it was more than a copy past I had to adjust the script to make it compatible to the side view one

but I think this one looks beautiful don't you think? :)

could I be arrested if I use the same HUD as mog hunter?

Graphically it's looks like a Moghunter copy-paste (seriously kudos for getting two battle systems to work!), so people can tell off the bat it's a Moghunter script, which is a good and bad thing in a few ways. A unique GUI is always best to make your game stand out from others.

Well instead of joking about it, how about you try mixing them both.

What ever I do not like to talk about it, but I will take your graphic change for consideration.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
