@Goatrider - looking very cool, though you should definitely go back around the edges of the pathway and use the dirt as a pattern and scatter it rather than making it look soft like that. Grass doesn't fade into dirt. Also, you should draw little blueish/white lines on the edge of the water too. Very nice though.

This screen shot is of an abandoned tower/family home. It's been empty for years and lies in the middle of a forest.

I know the doors don't match up with the door spaces, they're there for place-holding ATM.

This is my first attempt at the outside of a large, stone structure. I've got an entire castle that needs to be done at some point so I'm looking for helpful suggestions. The castle I will be doing will be in a 'taken care of' state but will still need to look old as ****, so... Any critiques and suggestions are welcome!

You've got the stonework looking battered, how about smashing up the glass?  If it's been abandoned a long time, those windows would have suffered by now.  If your real doors are going to be glass, then the same applies to them.  By having the tree slam up against the railing, you emphasise that it is, in fact, a flat object.  If it were that close, then some branches would cross the railings to this side.  The placement of the boulders looks a bit odd too.

@luchino.

Wow thanks! The sprite is just a place holder until I get the game rolling abit more.

@gorlami.

Thank you, I see what you mean about the dirt, and I've been trying to figure out how to do the water edges but it's not going too well. Any tips on how to make it work?

@HumanNinjaToo: What tiles are those? I notice Celianna's but the plants and trees I don't recognize. Also, great HUD.

Very interesting. I've never really seen anything like it before and I like it a lot, except for the two windows. They don't really fit in the title screen and seem like something you would find in-game. A lot of the time with title screens simpler is better so i think just the title, menu options, and background would be good.

I am trying to take those windows down.

I thought making the title backgroudn change to diffrent places, would make the player more intersted on hearing them music.

Thanks to much :)

Yeah I liked all the different places that the title screen may take place. It gives the player a new experience every time they open up the game, which I like.

Here is my first attempt at parallax mapping. This isn't for a game or anything as I haven't gotten the license from Celianna/Lunarea to use the steampunk, but I wanted to use graphics that were designed to work on parallaxing. I did two versions, one the rough finish and another with just a little glow to it.

What do you all think?

Nice! but I think the second one is better.

You should try doing some nature/town parallax because those are the most beautiful and are the best way to judge your parallax mapping skills.

@Sievnn that 3d look has always looked pretty awful every time I've seen you post something. It always looks boring and confusing.

Are these headlights too defined? I always struggle making lights like these.

(the map's quite bare because 1. there're credits on the top right side, 2. it scrolls and 3. it is a highway D: )

@Gorlami: I think it looks fine. Just the right amount of subtely used. Have to take my hat off to you for making a modern game too. :)

Testing out Cel's interior tiles. I probably won't use it in the game, though. And I'm ditching the lighting scripts now. Lighting made from overlays are much better.

Thanks that is your opinion.

A lot of people disagree with you such as pxlgraphic and Cecillia disagrees with you :3 and said its 'freaking cool'.

.

Funfact, its not 3D its an angle change.

3D = 3 dimention, my game is just a forward view. RPGmaker does not do 3D.

How is a day and night system and forward view confusing, its funny you are the only one thinking its confusing.

Maybe for the fact that you think its 3D which is not.

Either way I accept your opinion :)

for people who like it, I will make it better

and for people who believe its confusing, I will fix some problems which may make it look like its confusing for them.

@ Luchio

Love the medivil looks of it!

@Sievnn, stop being pedantic. You know exactly what he was referring to; don't passive aggressively say that you accept his opinion when you clearly don't (even though it's completely legitimate and on the mark).

@Luchino, is that screenshot with script or overlay? Either way, it has a really nice ambiance.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
