I've taken some advice and made some changes to my earlier pic.



@ksjp17: The glass actually has cracks in it but it's hard to see BC the panes are so dark. I'll try lightening it up some to accentuate the cracks in the panes more.

@pxlgraphic: I'm using tiles made by: Celianna, Joy Soruve, Ayene, and Cyangmou on this map. Thanks about the HUD but it's made by Falcao. I've made a few modifications to it but I'm going to completely change the look of it at some point, although the basic layout will remain the same.

@Gorlami: I think the headlights would look more realistic if they faded out some instead of abruptly stopping.

@Goatrider: That map is looking really good! All those details really made a big difference.

Are these headlights too defined? I always struggle making lights like these.

(the map's quite bare because 1. there're credits on the top right side, 2. it scrolls and 3. it is a highway D: )

Looks amazing. Overlay lighting is the way to go.

@Sievnn, stop being pedantic. You know exactly what he was referring to; don't passive aggressively say that you accept his opinion when you clearly don't (even though it's completely legitimate and on the mark).
No I don't know what he is referring too and I wasn't pedantic.

He was saying it was 3D even when its not. he said its confusing , I said I will make the game less confusingto him  and said that many people disagrees with him and wondered why they didn't think it was confusing but I accept his opinion even when if his opinion is weird (to me). =/

@Acrei is the contrast turned up or something it looks slightly pixelated to me..but it could just be me though.

@HumanNinjaToo For some reason I am just hoping that the cracked archway falls on the player!!

@Aceri - I find the structure of the big trees kind of weird... IDK if it's because the shadows below are small or the trees just really look weird...

@Shin - those are nice screenies... XD

@Aceri: I think you should do away with the different trees in the middle of the map around the path. They don't fit well with the trees around the outside of the pic. BTW, I love your sig. It cracks me up every time I see it!

@Celianna: It looks wierd being cut off like that but, it's actually a dead stump. Looks totally normal when you can see the whole thing I promise :D

@ShinGamix: I really like the leaf shrine. All the other maps look nice too though. My only gripe would be the shadow tiles that border the walls. I don't think they look good when you're using other forms of lighting/shadows. But it's really just my personal preference. I would also say the ghost cave looks a bit too dark. Good looking maps all around though!

@Shin, I think your maps are awesome, that Is how I envision my maps looking when I finish polishing them with some light effects and a few new resources. Thank for giving me a good example to aim for.

@Human, I like that Map, Great detail and It captures exactly what you are aiming for with your description.

Here are a few of mine.Just interior ones for now until I can grab Screens of my much larger outdoor maps. They are just basic at the moment and will be touched up with some lighting before they are completely finished.
These are wooden cabins in a quiet, isolated, snowed in Village.

For the first screen make the house smaller and split it up in corridors and such. For the inn you're using the right side of a double bed for the beds in the inn. Why don't you use the single beds that already exist? And that fireplace seems a bit randomly placed for me, maybe make a lounge type of area and place it there? The pub looks nice, the only issue I have is that the door is weirdly placed, maybe just take the door out and use a carpet and a designator as a door.

Looks very nice and I like the atmosphere of the map. Why is there only one crystal type of thing only in the one pillar to the left and not also the one on the right?

Well... I made a hud and used it in a mock up (and it's my first hud by the way >.< ). Can't say I like it a lot =/. Should I drop the orangy-brown color and instead use a blueish one?



And yes that's Cloud on a chocobo, I was bored OKAY!!( I couldn't find a portrait for him ;_; )

Hey guys! Has been a while. Some neat maps you posted here, however I will not comment them one by one; let me just say: Thanks for the inspiration!

I have been working on the sewer-area of my main town "Shrieks" so here it is: "Deep Shrieks", the town below the town.



Not all of the NPCs have been converted to my style yet but it's generally what it will look like down there. Feedback please! :)

@Shin & Zack - everything looks just a little over the top. I'd tone down the lighting effects a little.

@Goatrider - looking good! I think there's something a little iffy about the pipe's perspectives though. They look more like the should be against walls instead of above the player.

@Filius - the grass looks a little odd on the stone and it's a bit dark, but I like it~

aaand another map map from me. It would be appear the janitor here is quite the aspiring artist.

@Goatrider: I suggest you add a shadow under those pipes so it doesn't look like it should go up against the wall like Gorlami said.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
