@Shinma I think it's great RTP mapping! I like how you went about with the structure of the map. The symmetrical look fits nicely, you've used a good amount of detail, and I don't THINK it's too big or too small to roam around but I'd have to see it in-game to tell for certainly. Well done, Shinma!

@Exhydra You've conveyed exactly what you wanted there! I just sense to interact with everything and explore the environment. Both affects is what you'd want the player to do in either a horror or detective genre. I think you've gathered yourself a good set of resources to play around with there. It took me a while to notice the little switch? plug? in the top left corner. Well done!

Although I have to take a guess what the character is looking at is a window and not a picture? I can't tell for certainty just by looking at it.

Well done. It definitely looks like something from a horror genre. I especially like how you indicate that usable door.

@Lord Clarence Macdonald - I used the Ultimate Terraining Map created by my fellow wc3 modders in The Hive...

Largest map I've done, also the 2nd I've worked on too.  It took ages not only because of the size but because there was a lot of trial and error.  Happy with the way it turned out though.  PSD file size is like over a gig lol...
Originally the idea I had for the town had a wood floor platform and the city was in the middle of a canyon of water.  But I kind of scrapped the wood as it looked way too plain and went with this idea instead.  Still got to stick with the same layout of the city, but now it's a city inside of a water cave :p

Using Yanfly's script for 640x480, this will be what certain areas of the map look like as seen through the player's eyes.

Below is the entire map

@Tsukitsune Wow, what amazing detail :) The only thing I might recommend is that you fill up some of the empty space with plants, rocks, etc. Other than that it's looking good :D

Yeah, that is one of the aspects of the apartment that does need work. That is supposed to be a window, but the source image I resized to use as the city background does not come across well. In the actual game, I envision rain, birds or perhaps flying vehicles traveling in the background, so that may help.

Thank you. As areas may be dark, and exits or entrances may be on the right or left wall of a room, I thought I would clearly mark everything.

Largest map I've done, also the 2nd I've worked on too.  . . .
I agree with Rex on the need for filling out the empty areas. But, beside that, everything does look quite snazzy!

Somehow, I doubt that. I say this because I work with super huge files with loads of layers, and the most I've gotten is about 200MB.

Anyways, there's one thing missing in your map: roads. Grass doesn't grow where people walk a lot, so there definitely should not be any grass near the doors.

1.03g to be more precise.  I cleaned up some extra layers and made a new file (to the right) which is still alot, 931mb :p

Next map I make hopefully won't be as huge, my computer was screaming a few times (super laggy).

It's really large because I keep little backups, or extra copies of many of my layers before modying anything, so if I need to go back I can.  Also I can use them in different projects too.  It results in a huge file in most of my projects but it's useful for me.

Yeah they're made from battlebacks and @Cel, I hadn't thought about that, thanks.

I see... it's a really cool idea and looks nice... XD

Changed the battle layout a bit

-> Back to Enemy on top, player on bottom

-> Shrank command selection to show only 1 command

BattleHUD7.PNG

And I removed the blurred light in the room

Here is the first look at the work I have been doin..

(Some areas slowdown some due to other programs and the recording program I had running at the time)

#Warning _21 mins long

A lot of the areas are (WIP) but got all the scripts running with no errors and the modules all working together too.

@tsukitsune It looks really good, I like the battleback maps!

@ShinGamiX You've got a 'lot' going on in your game, though I do like seeing it in video format. I feel like it'd be a lot easier on the eye if I were eased into it by playing the game, so it's not really that much of an issue. It's lookin good!

@Seita and Amicable Thank you for your comments. The features here in the video was where I was pushing the scripts to their limits to see if errors would occur and how those limits would effect playabilty

and @Amicable it was just a test to see how both ways looked and I haven't decided which one to go with as of yet.

@Luchino - definitely bring the opacity of those shadows down in the first screenshot, it all looks a little smokey.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
