@Allerka I really like how you use the XP tileset mixed with the VXAce set to give it a nice feel though there a bit too many square buildings though perhaps vary the building a bit more. though i'm looking forward to see the progress of this map.
Thanks! I'll probably expand/combine some of the buildings so there's more variety in the shapes.

@Blood - that's one of the beauties of XP mapping, layers... :)
I'm quickly finding myself missing XP's layers in VX Ace. Autotiles are vastly better and more intelligent, but the lack of layers is proving to be pretty frustrating after years of XP.

Other than that, though, I'm blown away at how much more I can do in VX Ace in terms of databases and scripting.

I really like your tile edits man.

I think the spacing is pretty good though.

@Stridah Looking good, I like how it isn't too cluttered! I agree with Blood, your tile edits are sweet. Only thing I can see is your barrel behind the bar has a very slight overlap with it on the right side. I cannot see anything else, I want to run around this town and see it in game!

@Blood, I am a fan of old english texts as well, I have been trying to find a good one to use that is pretty easy on the eyes. Is your menu layout going for an old parchment? I do like it!

@Shadow, that map is beautiful! Great job, I never got to use xp, seems like fun! Good job keeping the nature natural!

The inside of my inn and my title screen! Still messing with the tone on my inn, don't know if I should make it a tad darker or if it is good as is. The leaves on the title screen are animated. Thanks all for the help!

@oztiks708: I wouldn't go any darker on the inn or you'll start to lose some of the details in the shading for the darker areas of the stone. Also, might want to get more than just my opinion on this, but I think you need to do some serious contrast adjustments. It's very hard to see the people and the furniture against the floor. I didn't even notice the two dudes by the fire place until half way through typing this response lol

I like the placements of things! It's just really blends all together for me.

the inn could use a bit brighter lighting, unless you really want it to be really dark... and yes, I agree with Makio, contrast edits would help on this... some of the things blend just so well they look like part of a single object...

@oztiks, As I don't know how to edit the stuff to keep it inside the parchment. I went back to my old styled paper. With the border and everything.

@Blood - either make the parchment larger, or just use spaces...

@oz really like the title screen, since no one has said anything about that ill jump in.  First of all its really simple which is great, the logo is really nice along withI the font (love that font really do, a good font adds so much).  I would play a little bit with the slight green shaded background it looks kinda blurry to me, also the game name looks a little blurry to me too, id really sharpen that up.

as for the inn, i like the layout a lot, it is small and cozy.  The only thing that ill be nit picky with is the bush in the back left, i feel like it would either be up against the wall or not near a fire place at all (i get that you put it there to add some color.  I am not bothered by the darker tones like shana & mak.  The high fantasy pack to my knowledge is supposed to be dark and earthy feeling.  Btw no one commented but i think its really cool you added the outside of the building its a nice effect!

as usual my thoughts sometimes get jumbled if they don't make sense just ask LOL!

also im probably a month away from throwing any of my maps actually into rpg maker...i wana have the whole prologue mapped before i start populating and chaning events.

@Engar. I'm talking about my actors and menu scenes. It doesn't line up.

I agree with Stridah about the logo. Love the font and the basic design, but I think you should sharpen up the edges. It sorta fuzzes into the background a bit and since the skull/rat decal doesn't do that, they don't have so much harmony together.

Hi there,

this is a place that (at the moment) has no real purpose, I was just messing around with some parallax wizardry, resulting in a map that you could call either crammed or detailed - your decision. :)

Greetings, Shabz

Hey Shabz, I REALLY like your map, but it's... way too busy, the overall design of it is amazing, but you've got too many things going on at once. I think you've just got too many little plants everywhere,  spray some weedkiller around and it might be a little easier on the eyes!

@Shab

That map is beautiful but daunting. Dear lord I love it. It kind of scares me though so much detail/cramping lol.

@Shabz - One nitpicky little detail: the stairs to the door look really flat.  They need to cast a shadow onto the house.  Otherwise, it's gorgeous!  A bit busy, but it doesn't bother me.

Shabz, is that water animated? If so, how did you do it?

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
