From ksjp17's feedback, I modified the tile colour.

house2.jpg

And I made another tile set by just changing the colour.

@Makio-Kuta:  Your screenshots look excellent.  The only minor picky thing I could think of is that the green comes across strong on the trees.  Maybe fade that a little bit to transition between the fall colors?

Been working on a new edit:

Working on a tileset edit for ruins underneath a forest.  Also wanted to test the lighting by standing in the darkest part of the room

@B.Ultimus Love the overall look of that, especially the floor tiles. What's the story with the monsters down there? They look like Moblins that stole Link's hat and tunic!

@ Alexander - That is the most accurate description that could ever possibly be said to describe those monsters. I love it lol.

@ B. Ultimus - I really like the coloring of your tile edits, and the lighting seems just fine to me. Easy enough to navigate while keeping in theme with an underground area.

Thanks guys!

It was a quick frankensprite I made based off of Thalzon's Goblin Battler.

That's a good map,segment there, but it doesn't really read as ruins, the tire you're using, makes it read as more castle dungeon, then ruins.

I would use a tile, with cracks, and such in it, to make it seems much older.

@Zoltor

I have to give you a like for the friendly push.  I decided to experiment around, and came up with something I am pretty happy with.

Much better, the vines are a nice touch(makes it look unused), especially with it being under a forest, and the bigger pile of rubble makes it look like It's in shambles(like a part of the ceiling actually caved in)

@B.Ultimus: Hmm, yeah the pine trees could still use a bit of work, I agree. I can't make them changing yellow or red though, given they are evergreens. Maybe they still have some blue in them. Thought I managed to draw all that out of it but--hmmm. I'll have to experiment!

The second version of your ruins is a lot nicer! I was going to suggest throwing some greenery down there, since you said it was under a forest. I'm not sure if it exists in RTP, but I think showing some tree roots growing through would really bring home the location of these ruins even further.

Not a big fan of the cobweb hanging over both beds. Makes that area seem a little samey. I like the colour that the glow from your lanterns makes a lot! Is this another custom recolour like your sewer from before, or a screentint?

@Makio - It's a recolor. :)

Also an idea for your trees...maybe lower the saturation a little bit, and give it just a little bit more blue.  A tiny drop in brightness may also help.

Nice~ It's a lovely green you used. Gives it a bit of a mossy look even before you added in the plant life.

I was thinking of lowering their brightness, but yeah, maybe the saturation would help too. I'll play with the sat. a bit and see what happens if I put some of the blue back in. Colours are such great fun. :D It'll have to be after work tonight though D: no time left for it now. Thanks for the suggestions!

Did some more work on the village, particularly the mountain slopes in the northeast, and simplified the windows around town to be more uniform. Gonna start adding more details and stuff.

@B.Ultimus:

I like it! Gives off a really dark and ruined feeling.

@Allerka:

I like the general layout, but the forest tile to the east looks really off. I would at least at the ceiling tile to it, and reduce the

length of the tree/wall tile. Some of your trees to the southwest cut off, too.

Ignore the actual map, I'm mainly testing out the battle HUD (WIP).

And a pathway to a lab/home inside a cliff. The rain effect isn't there until later in the story, though. HUD is also WIP.

@allerka i circled some stuff like i told ya

you did a great job with the cliffs i am cooking diner but will edit this later tonight.

ok here is my edit, you keep doing a great job with the outside of the town, the cliffs and trees look great lovely job.  With the buildings i think you are trying to make each building unique and you can do that without throwing windows in weird spots. look at houses when u drive home from work, the windows generally have symmetry and appear in normal stuff.  Id say for your variety keep to the same type of window on each building, and keep a normal feel like the ones circled in green.  Im assuming the east tree wall is work in progress.

@ makio, Stridah, and Shana. Thank you guys! You pretty much rock. All the feedback is super appreciated. I did a mock up of a few titles I thought looked good, sharpened up the lettering, moved the decal and went with a few backgrounds!

@ B. Ultimus - I love the edits on the ruins, I think they look great! The cracks and vines really added to the atmosphere.

Sorry Large images and 4 of them, aka Spoiler tag!

Oooh, oz, I like the 3rd one best.  I think it would look great if the green of the title were just a tiny smidge darker.  Looks good though.

@Ot708 Where is the other title screen you had? That one was awesome. Why did you move the skull to the center?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
