@allerka i circled some stuff like i told ya

you did a great job with the cliffs i am cooking diner but will edit this later tonight.

ok here is my edit, you keep doing a great job with the outside of the town, the cliffs and trees look great lovely job.  With the buildings i think you are trying to make each building unique and you can do that without throwing windows in weird spots. look at houses when u drive home from work, the windows generally have symmetry and appear in normal stuff.  Id say for your variety keep to the same type of window on each building, and keep a normal feel like the ones circled in green.  Im assuming the east tree wall is work in progress.
Awesome, thanks! So basically what you're saying is more symmetry in the windows. I can do that. I was actually trying to get away from that since that's my natural tendency, guess I might have gone too far in the other direction, eh? Or at least only one kind of window to a house.

And yes, the trees on the east side are WIP still.

@ oz i >3 them...3 and 4 are the best really great job man! Super impressed

@ allerka yes keep symmetry, the variety is from the different building types & keep same windows per house.

The new Hearth Village using new graphics~ click on it for a larger view. No parallaxing yet, just pure tileset manipulation and an unfinished tower mockup in the center.

@seita - Wow!  I would love to see some close up screenshots of this!  And I can't wait to see that tower!

@the Shadow

I am assuming that the light beam on the left is from an overlay which seems to emulate sun beams.  If so, I'd do a blur (e.g. a Gaussain Blur) on it as the edge is far too sharp, imo.

Still working on town maps:

Nice! I've never tried to do a water-city before, but this looks good! I wonder about hiding the clock behind the tree, though, and the large flower beds obstructing foot traffic.

Thanks guys, going with the 4th!

@Shana, I will do as soon as I figure out a good screen recorder and video upload site!

@Seita, That looks fantastic, can't wait to see it finished.

@Shadow, It is looking good, I second the light needing some blur. Also the few little brushes in the stone feel slightly out of place to me. other than that I love it.

Here's a screenie of the "shop" from Chicken Games (also shows an actual hat and banner in action)... You buy via selecting the actual items... XD...

Hey buddy 'o pal, hahaha. The map is too..."squarish". In my opinion, maybe you should change the layout. I mean, re-arrange the walls and such. And you should change the rock wall tile to a different rock wall tile. If not, you could try darkening the walls!  Other than that, it's okay. It's not bad. Also, add more detail.

@Stridah

I personally have no problems with it being square - this has been dug out of a cliff, so there is no need for it to look like a 'natural' cave.

However, I think that it is simply a bit too big.  I suggest that you make the top 2 rooms the same size as the lower 2.

If you really wanted to make it more compact, I would lose the top corridor and have the entrance to the top 2 rooms from the sides.  I think it adds a slightly more realistic air to the claim that these were carved out of solid rock.  No one is going to do massively more work than is needed.  A bit, yes, because they don't want it to be strictly utilitarian, but at the moment there's nothing that really says "yeah, upmarket cave dwelling".

What everyone else said, plus I'm wondering about the lack of doors. Or have they just not been added yet?

@allerka I just add the doors as events, remember my maps have not touched rpg maker yet.

Also I am going to work on re-doing the second floor of the inn, I switched to completing some small interiors for homes while at work today i might post some later but they are pretty small and basic.

Here's a shot of the scene that occurs when our deadpan protagonist retreats into the sewers and meets an odd individual.

Now where have I seen this mapping style before lol... Ah ha, Golden Sun, I think I figured out your favorite game :)

Awesome map btw(are you gonna have puzzles in your dungeons too?

Also how did you make that smaller text window(the name window, that has question marks atm, since that's clearly part of event, introducing a char the party doesn't know yet) ?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
