If someone already played one game of a series and thinks it was bad, he'd probably not buy another game from that series. So if Pokemon is factually bad as in what ur trying to case, then the newer pokemon games shouldn't be bought by old-time gamers.
Pokemon might be bad for you, but that doesn't mean that it's bad for everybody. You shouldn't make claims that generalize too much. Plus good/bad is a very subjective matter. Especially in fields where there are no real, ratified standards.
And for the record, I play both pokemon and SMT games. And I find both series to be good. Plus the focus of Pokemon's story is monster capture, SMT has that too, but that's not really the main point of the story.
PS: this is getting off-topic... If you wanna "bash" pokemon, post on the thread for "Games that you hate yet everyone else cherishes"
Like I hinted at, they don't know any better, because they haven't played any non-pokemon monster capture/Training games.
There is nothing redeeming about Pokemon, and the franchise is as bad as the madden games for crying out loud, you would think they would've improved upon the games by now, but no, they're basically the same exact way they were when the first Pokemon game came out.
Lol why, if that's true, that's very sad(Pokemon is one of the worst things to happen to the anime industry, and is one of the worst things to happen to gaming indry, it basically crippled an entire genre). Pokemon is like the FF series, people play them just because of the name or they were hooked on it when they were kids, so It's blind nostalgia.
You need to play DWM 2, It's the best Monster Capture/Training game ever made, and It's completely focused on Capturing, and training monsters(plus the DW universe has one of the best array of monsters ever assembled). It has a dynamic lv, and breeding system as well, It's not dumbed down to the most basic as can be, like Pokemon.
