That corner in the upper left looks elevated, making the stove appear to be on the roof. Maybe no ceiling tile there, or expand the map by a couple squares to better show it.

It isn't elevated and the map is bigger. Not everything is visible because it's an in-game screenie.

@Archeia: doesn't look too sci-fi to me, more like modern. Anyways, i like the three screenshots, also, that spaceship (it's a spaceship, right?) looks awesome. The hazmat guys also look cool.

@Esbie: the ambientation is enigmatic. I like it alot. Excellent use of DS+ style. What a tiny resolution btw hahaha.

I just finished my class selection scene. All made from scratch, it's an evented system. The background, the clouds, the rain and the character pointer are ALL animated. Yes, all. The scene also has lightning effects by the way.

It is all in spanish, sorry, but i guess that doesn't matters.

Here is how it looks:



Those three options appear once you selected a class. The options are: Information, Story and Select (Information shows the class stats, story needless to say, and select to confirm the selection of the class, obviously)

Yes, the font is the same font as Diablo (and other games. Exocet, the font, is not exclusive of Diablo : P )

And no, it's not RMXP. This is all made on RMVXAce xD

Aliens inspired science fiction :D

It's not really Futuristic Mass Effect-like Scifi :)

I'm not a big fan of the cliff tiles though. The mid part is just odd.

@HiddenOne, the map is too empty. Add more doodads!

@Metereo, I like it, especially how you implemented lighting. :)

Ok, it's not completely finished. But I'm happier with this version of my woods. But, I need to know, does the layout seem too much? I was going for an authentic woodsy twisty feel if that makes sense.

As long as there are e.g. rewards for exploring, I think the layout is fine. 

There are a few instances where trees have been cut off and need events to complete them e.g. right hand side, very close to the edge, about a third of the way down.  A little below that, a thin tree is standing on top of a rounded one.  then a couple more as you go down further.

If you look around the main part of the map, you'll see several that need attention in the same way.

Looks much better than version one.

lol. I haven't put the events in to finish off the trees., those trees will be behind or in front of the others. It looks werid as it is I know.

The whole first part of the game is set on the woods, so there will be plenty to find when you explore.

I am not really liking the scene being so much in shadows, doesn't look good plus all the other trees look far too small for there to be tree's over the character making it shadow like that. Other then that the setup looks nice ^_^

I am going to share a game I am currently working on called "Womb to Tomb", it's a poop game :p the environment will come along in due time but here's what I have so far.

I, on the other hand, think the shadows look fine.  I like the map.

Your screenshot, showing the only bit of dialogue has a typo.  It should read:

I'm Hungry

I would make it say I'm Hungry but everytime I use thing such as ' or " in text over character it crashes :p so nothing I can do about that. 

Yea the scene setup looks fine but in all actuality that leaf shadow should only really be used when your deep in the jungle or woods, such as something like this: 

Although I have seen many people use it otherwise :p doesn't mean it's being used properly. You would want very high trees surrounding the character to make it appear proper.

Is that about my screenshot? Because there is no 'leaf shadow' in there.

No, you do not use the quote button, especially if that means including the screenshot as well.

The rule for this forum is to use the convention of :

@[user name}  

It's in the rules in the OP.

@DMI

If your game is crashing because you use ' or " then you have a serious issue, and that needs sorting, not ignoring by putting in what every player is going to assume is a mistake.

that's what I figured, I hate using the Quote button anyways :p lolol actually what i meant was, the script I am using causes the crash when I make the script call and ask for it to use symbols of any sort. Letters are fine but symbols crash the game, so since it's the script, I cannot do anything about it since I am no pro Ruby coder. Do you happen to know of a script that calls the text over player/event that allows symbols?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
