Too much clutter? not enough clutter. This is the map that the wood map leads too.  I think there's something missing, but Ii'm just not sure.

Balance of clutter to clear is pretty good, but there seems to be no point to all that space. It needs some events. The rocky bits on the path don't make any sense, who would be walking on piles of rocks when there's perfectly good level ground nearby? I think the firepit needs to look more like a campsite, fallen logs for seating and the grass cleared away from the pit. Right now it's just kind of there.


Is that one of the houses from Celi's new pack? Looks good. It's a bit muted for the RTP as is, you might want to brighten it up or mute the RTP's colors.

it seems some of the smaller tree tops are missing while in the upper right portion there is a smaller tree that actually is on top of a larger tree, i think they should be reversed. Also top right corner, there is a piece missing from one of the larger trees. Other then that looking good :)

Nothing techincally wrong with lots of empty space depends on the area.

I've seen many SNES RPGS that did this and usually was executed well.

Looks really nice, although I don't see any shadows. Indoor and outdoor. The broom in the first picture looks weirdly out of place. And it looks like that the bottom pathway in the first picture just stops in front of the house. Wouldn't it go left and connect with the upper left pathway? Even if you can't see it.

Oh, and where did you get those book cupboards? :)

Those look really nice mirage, I love the tiles. Are those custom made or are they available somewhere?

Those book cupboards are Member+, Candacis.

I really like your maps Mirage88. Is that broom a sprite? (I think I've seen it before.)

@Candacis: I actually added shadows as an overlay in the indoor picture. Guess I didn't make it noticable enough :/ The brrom is magical and sweeps on it's own, it's just sweeping outside of the shop. The bookcases are by Lunarea for Member+.

@Engr Adiktuzmiko: The outdoor tiles are Celianna's medieval tilesets available at the store. The indoor tiles are Lunarea's magic store tiles available from one of the member+ resource packs.

@Slimmmeiske2: The broom is indeed a sprite. I got it from the lost in the forest resource release over at rpgmakervxace.net.

Ah I see. Gonna take a look at my still unpacked member+ resources. I have the habit of simply downloading the restaff and member+ stuff without opening them until I need it. XD

You can also find the broom in a Restaff I did in September along with the waterwheel.  I submitted them to both sites.  I believe it's also available in resource request here where I originally posted it.

You can post videos here, but it's not encouraged.  Most people don't want to bother with watching them and it's hard to get really into the specifics of critiquing a map if it moves while you try to look at it.

tried to obtain some kind of monastery design with the rtp tiles ..because I wanted to use default tiles with all is power but I am not sure if this give monastery effec at all...

I merged 2 pictures together to get the full map in one image...

It's a huge descent from a large Canyon.

I see, I merely prefer videos as it shows more of what I am doing since my current games aren't very "map detailed" oriented.

For these screenies I am setting up the on screen HUD, which do you like best?

The plan is to not have HP, one hit and you die so the blue bar is the MP which uses up your attacks.

The small items next to the bar are equiped attacks and armor, items display next to the armor when you have them.





In the final version only MP will be shown.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
