I think you misunderstood, I am quiet aware of the rpg maker rules as i have been using the engine for years now. I was merely asking about the forum rules as some other forums do allow postings from other engines.

So since someone on fb said that Celianna's new tiles reminds him about Attack on Titan I got this silly idea.

YES, I'm a Night Titan. ;D

Thanks to:

Celianna for the tiles

Pititia12 for Ralph's clothes

Obviously it's not a game, I made it just for fun.

@Metereo - I'd just tile it.

@Moonkid - The two trees on the right hand side of the inn messes up the depth a little, move them up a tile or two. Long grass next to the general store needs a gap through the middle where people would be walking. Other than that it's pretty spot on.

Joining in the town mapping.

Ah the trained eye  of Celianna, hehe... Indeed you're right, but to the untrained eye I think you can get away with it now and again. Not every tileset has what you want I find. It was also some of my first mapping attempts I would probably modify or draw/paint my own now if I needed them. It's also hard to choose a set to stick with, they're all so good!
Yeah, I didn't see any problem before Celianna mentioned it (and, to be honest, I can't pick out any inconsistencies now that I know they're there).

This. I can't see any issues. It's probably only really visible if you super-zoom in, but even then...

That map is gorgeous! I love the light. Which tile set is it? or a Custom?

Okay, so my post was buried almost immediately after I said something. So i'd might as well re-post the picture.

From a distant view it looks fine, but I can see in close enough to comment on specifics.

You could try zooming in, maybe. It helps a bit, actually.

@DMIgames - Those waterfalls in the first screenshot look awfully strange and the grass around the road look somewhat bare.

@anorak that's because it's not an in game screenshot, thus why the in game screenshot below it displays the proper coloring for the water.

@DMI - I suggest finding/using another black tile for the top of the waterfalls, it's too square which looks so unnatural IMHO.

@Cluly - Thanks, the tiles are predominately DS+ edits and the path/road being tiles by The-Red-eX

@DMI - Yeah, still looks off in the in game screenshot. Needs the waterfall event tiles at the top and bottom too.

@BigT - It's fine. Just too barren, bare and straight. I get that it's a mine but straight long paths just don't look attractive in games. You need to get some variation in the floor tiles.

@Mister Big T - The top part of the cliff tiles to an extent blends too well with the floor tiles, making it look like it's a bit connected to the floor.

@DMI - using the waterfall technique by BustedEd (If I'm right) in his tutorial also makes the waterfalls look more natural and beautiful (like putting "splashing" water in the part where it meets the body of water)

I purposely decided not to add the splashes on the bottom, actually I don't find the in game screenshot to look off at all pertaining to the water color. Perhaps your screen color settings?

The 1 black square you see is actually an opening to a secret room, it could use a nice overlay graphic to make it look like a cave, i agree.

Other then that, thanks for your positive remarks (oh wait, there were none lol)

@Mister Big T ... looking good so far :) spoooooky caves, one question, what's going on with the tracks on the right side of the screen? they look funny, I like the mushrooms :)

More from JBS 2D, the stage select screen:

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
