@ksjp17:

There has never been an explanation as to why a screenshot was chosen and not the other. I would have selected others if it were me. The number of Likes is also some kind of indicator for a Public Choice.

I consider this only as a personal choice from Celianna, nothing more.

@Melaniipon: thanks! I didn't mess with the water, though. The DS set should include 2 water types: one solid dark blue, and one with a pattern in it.

@ksjp17, FeaR616: thanks for the feedback. Think I've got the stairs all fixed, now.

They are indeed all excellent.  But I do notice that of the 6 chosen, 4 are parallax maps, or have parallax elements in them (maybe 5, I'm not sure about the first map).  I wonder if the subliminal message that may be picked up here is that it isn't really possible to get excellence in the editor?  As presumably we want people to be able to use the editor with equal skill, maybe there is a case for having 2 separate categories or something, so that people can see that it can be done.
All it is, is me selecting screenshots I think are well done or rather unique (I don't differentiate between editor maps and parallax maps - as long as the end result is aesthetically pleasing). It's usually also a screenshot with a lot of likes.

@Deathswallow if anyone here ever tells you "LOL THAT SUX" then that's not feedback, that's not even criticism. That's BULLYING, IMO. (It's their opinion of course, but as a fellow developer they should still know better)

That being said...  I like the way it's looking so far. I noticed, though, that the phone booth has no shadow, only the bus stop... If this isn't something you can control then don't even worry about it :) Will you be adding lighting effects later?

OOoohh....your right....they probably could use some shadows, lol. And the lamp posts too! I always over look that....

As for lighting effects...i do want to, but i havent decided how i would yet. Since im not parallax mapping, i think i could get away with using Khas' Script....

@Deathswallow, interesting tree colours, is it autumn? I love survival horror games! Looks like a decent map, Iron Croc already pointed out the areas I would have mentioned :)

I've been working on the combined Inn & Pub for Mori. There will eventually be a jukebox added to the Pub map.

Inn

And the attached Pub

Good maps!

The floor looks interesting, but creates a certain atmosphere which I like.

The only thing I would change are the shadows from the cabinets, they look a bit odd.

@Deathswallow

Your trees need shadows as well.  Nice bit of observation - it really is the case that often there's a lot of litter on the ground around an empty litter bin.

@Deathshallow:

I like the map, as already said, you are missing some shadows, mainly the trees and the telephone booth. And I'm not sure about those trees. They are a bit bright and at some parts blurry. But the layout of the map is lovely, and the sprite sitting in the bus station really nicely done.

@literarygoth:

All maps are very nice and have a really great atmosphere. The main thing I would change is the floor. I like the texture on the floor, but the end parts are irritating and unwillingly draw attention to them. If you can, I would edit the floor tiles, so that the connecting parts aren't so big. The other thing are some of the shadows. In the pub screenshot you are missing a shadow where you have the open door to the kitchen. There should be a shadow under the door beam. The whole pub screenshot doesn't have shadows. Then you always draw the shadows right to the top part of the walls, it can give it a weird perspective. Try removing the shadow from the walls. Oh, and at the pub some of the pub chairs look like they are beneath the counter, the shadow of the counter is partly too dark. Other than that fine work. Great use of different wood textures.

I really like the atmosphere of the map,  but you should really add some shadows, like mentioned earlier. The paper on the ground also looks a bit weird, it just looks like it shouldn't be there. Great map.

@ literarygoth- I LOVE your maps! I think that their just perfect, although....i agree with Candicis, the floorboards look a little weird the way they are. But all in all great! :D

Regarding my map: Actually, not autumn. Its just in the afternoon in...spring...-ish. lol, i dunno what season it is, but the time of day is afternoon. I used a mix of Zombie Survival Graphics pack, futuristic, and modern, which i recolored in gimp to give it "afternoon" colors...how did i do, lol? Here's what it looked like before:

@ksjp17- Thank you!! ^_^

@Candices- Im not sure about the trees either. I didint really do anything else to them besides recolor. But yeah, once i get the first part of the demo done i'll go back and do all the shadows (writes down on list). :D

As for the sprite, thaank you ^_^ ! You cant really see in a picture, but im trying to animate the sprites in this game as much as i can! I cant wait to show a vid, or definitely a demo!!! XD

!!! You know what, it just accord to me that i might have brightened the trees a bit too....i'll try to fix that.

@Pikachu- if you like the atmosphere now, just wait untill i release a demo!! I'll try to do something about the paper, i really what it to be there. Thank you :) !!

@Candacis hmm I'd always thought that the shadows should go up the wall, but now that you (and others) have pointed it out, and I've thought about it, I realize they shouldn't be there. Now it's bothering me >_>

As for the floor, I like the way it looks, and it was an intentional thing on my part. I wanted the feel of a building that had been put together and built by hand with materials formed by manual labor.

The path tiles are the wrong way around - the notched bit is tye kerb. Though in this case, you could apply the notch to both sides of the path.

@lemongreen Looks very beautifully moody like The Longing Ribbon. I like that it's got a very monochrome style going on there. The driver's garb looks a little bit archaic for the modern setting though, don't ya think? ;) Nah, I'm just kidding, I'm sure you're meant to change that. The car looks a bit blurry, though. Is there any reason for that? If possible, when expanding the size of the car, choose "Nearest Neighbour" as your resizing mechanism. That way the pixels will be more or less preserved with their crisp edges.

Litter on the ground near trash bins is actually common, especially in more urban settings.

@DS I say keep it!

FeaR616 Ohh wow.  Is that parallax'd? Are those lighting effects? Very well done. I like how the flames burn green, gives off an atmosphere that something is very wrong.@Celianna, great job as always.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
