I use XP for years now and wanted to try the Ace mapping.
But I really don't like it :')
Well... this is a small test house I made with RTP stuff.

@Jackus

If you don't want to use the wooden chairs with curved arms that are in the Mack set, then have a look at Celianna's tileset.  It has a range of chairs in it, and one of them may suit you.

Back to layout.

People will want to sit in front of that fire, and having a wooden cupboard that close is dangerous.  I suggest you remove one of the empty work surface tiles from the kitchen set, and move

that cupboard so that you have an open space in front of the fire.  Use either stools or simple chairs (because it's not a wealthy house) so that it looks like people can sit there.

I wonder if part of your problem is that you are not using sideways cupboards, so you end up with everything on the back wall?  The Mack set has one, and you will also find some on this tile set

And now you have empty spaces too, you should reduce the width of the counter, and thus the size of the room; and you could try to decrease the size of your previous chairs for them to fit with your new table.

Edit : I missed the new page it was for Jackus

A showcase of my new Item Menu. I really don't like default stuff.

I'll also have a "description" button that will give lore info and puzzle clues related to the item.

@lucy: really sweet map. The guy looks like he is exhausted from all that cleaning and rearranging furniture :D

I guess, I'm on the other side of the fence, I really don't like the xp look and love the vx/ace look. But agreed that mapping is easier in XP.

One small thing: you might want to shift-map the carpets.

@KanaX: From a gameplay point of view it seems kinda strange that the character is carrying around a locker all the time ^^ But i like the animation, though i personally like menus that don't take the whole screen but are just blended in, especially in games without huge status screens.

@lavra I have accepted the fact that WSS is not going to be a game with strong gameplay. :)
Hence, I focus on making it visually appealing and giving it the best story/lore/atmosphere that I can.Also, I face great issues with making modest designs. Megalomania, I think it's called....

@seita

@KaYsEr  Let me know when your KS is up! I've got a few people that may be able to help broadcast it. Glad the post mortem helped, It took me a long time to finish and I keep feeling like I forgot to add something ;x
That's super kind and motivating! Thanks a lot, I will keep that in mind when the day comes. (and don't worry, this post mortem already feels very complete)

Here's an area in my game that is themed after various CreepyPastas(My game takes place on the internet.)

The background I used was a photo of a forest at night. It clashes a bit, as you can see. Can someone point me in the direction of a more fitting one?

@GolfHacker You did well to use the elevations on the side makes it feel like the road gets elevated too. It work pretty well. In the desert tileset of RMXP it was done like that too for example.

@Raider thanks thanks!

@KaYsEr  For now that will stay as is, I'll most likely spruce it up later on. Let me know when your KS is up! I've got a few people that may be able to help broadcast it. Glad the post mortem helped, It took me a long time to finish and I keep feeling like I forgot to add something ;x

@CM Games welcome felow pinoy ;3 Looks good, the atmosphere is good if it's supposed to convey chills or darkness on purpose.
Thanks man. It is still in process. Anyone here know how did Accha, the developer of Dreaming Mary did a side-scrolling RPG game without using a script. Here take a look.

@CM Games: You may just put these between your images.

*images here*
This is how my game works if someone casts a magic. :)

NOTE: This is an animated GIF image.

One question: Will it be possible to disable the zooming?  Personally i prefer to have the overview mode (as seen at the end of the gif) all the time ^^

I did the zooming on purpose not just for the cool camera movements but also to also zoom the target sprites since they're all too small and also to (maybe) prevent confusion which target is used by the action. Therefore, it's not possible, at least this game, to disable zooming. And also, 100% of all actions (including normal attacks, item usage, skill usage, finishers, and [soon] escape) have camera movement. And also this the reason why I edited Tankentai Ace, Yami's PCTB, and Yanfly scripts thoroughly for months to make them compatible.

I'm trying to build an incline for my road to go from one elevation to another (didn't really want to use stairs for the road). But I'm not sure this looks right. Any suggestions?
If you put those little stair tiles on your path halfway up that should do it.

Here is my attempt at the Blue Cave.

I want the background to look like an overlook or opening into a huge cave system filled with gems.

If you wanna see it as released, here it is.

Deb, I love the glowy blues! So pretty. The only thing that leaves me a little confused is the bridge in the bottom of the first pic. It's just a little confusing as to exactly what's going on there.

Hey I rememeber seeing that tileset! I was by...by.....Penta...? Maybe? Looks really fancy ingame, that's for sure.

I feel like there are a few too many light sources (shiny blue bits) that you could do without, especially since they cast that pixelly glow that looks pretty shoddy to me.

The tall rocks are very...strange. They look like a bizarre upside-down brown stonified mummy?

I would also remove the fat single-cap mushrooms. They look a bit goofy and the map doesn't need that much clutter anyway with such a nice color contrast.

Edit: Now that I look at it again, this is all feedback on the LOWER map. I re-read it and you say "as released", and now I'm not sure if it's meant to be "ingame" or "as the person who made the tileset sampled". The upper map in contrast certainly needs a lot more work and looks incomplete around the details.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
