Good idea, but the perspective of those grey things is a little sketchy.

@lemongreen - looks pretty good man! I like it, the thing that sticks out the most to me however is the circular shadow you have on the left portion of the map, its opacity looks off to me, like its just straight cut instead of a lighting effect/shadow. And I agree about Hotfirelegend's comment about the grey things, it looks like you used starway railings for them which if you are doing so you should have just used the same railing you used for the bottom and just changed the angle because with it being used in the way you are using it the railings in the center should be straight and not angled, the only reason they are vertical on the up/down railings because there are steps. If you mean to use them as you are then they would be straight across like the bottom rail is, you know what I mean? other than that it looks good

I decided that I needed practice editing and even mapping, with graphics from Samurai and even the futuristic pack.

ALRIGHT! SO, I tried to fix some of the stuff on the World Map, for example adding textures to the ground to show color and texture variation, resized the towns/lighthouses/boats and liked it much better. Still debating about removing any of the boats to look less populated still have not decided. Also added the tone changes when you are nearing certain locations and have included some ingame pics along with a new Over Look of the complete World map so far, remember I still have 3 more Continents to finish LOL but I am a bit of a perfectionist so want to finish these two before I move on to the others. Anyhoos Let me know what you guys think!!!  APPRECIATE IT!!

Here they are:

Complete World Map so far:

EDIT: Here is the new world map with textured water

However the in game samples down below will not have the textured water

In Game Samples:

Thanks everyone for looking!!!

I like those maps a lot.  How big is your world map going to be when finished?  Or will there only be those 2 'continents'?

@Ksjp17 - Thank you!! There will be 5 continents total, so I still have 3 more to add to the map, so that is about 35% of what the total world map's size will be.

And here is some samples from the village at the base of the snow cliff not finished but you'll get the idea

@Erik Holland - Looks pretty good man! I like it, a few things I see first this may just be an opinion but the 2 trees outside of the fence on the right hand side would look a bit more natural if you moved them a little more apart. Secondly- the fences' perspective looks a bit off on the top, you can maybe add just a bit of depth to the top of the fence. Third- the sand garden tiles shading is off, since you used the same tile twice to make it bigger you need to change the color of the sand so they match, it suddenly gets dark when at that area of the sand they should be the same color. and fourth- and this is just my opinion but the grass looks kind of weird to me with the 3 different, imho i would make the mid-green grass go out all the way nearly to the water and only leaving that bright green as a trim right along the water. Other than those things it looks good!

The 2 gameplay elements in my game are 2-person mazes/puzzles etc. And this puzzle game: Pretty much to Picross but i'm thinking of how to make it special, with cool extra skills and all. Anyway, the first stages are done, but if anyone has ideas for cool skills to add in later levels, that would be cool. It's played with the mouse by the way. (Also, lay-out suggestions?)

@BlackLiquidSorrow

Most of your houses lack windows, none of them have chimneys.  The bigger purple house at the back has got a door that is far too small for the size of the house itself, which is a different scale to anything else.  There is nothing in the town which makes it look lived in, it is all very sterile.  There is no variation in tone or surface for the ground, there is no clutter around, where do people hang their washing, where do they meet?  Where are the people, the dogs, the birds flying around?  Do they have lamp posts?  Does anyone ever sit on a bench?  Does a blade of grass ever manage to push its way through the surface?  What about a tree or two?

And the first map contains nothing for the player to look at except a short path which comes in at the bottom but doesn't appear to lead to anywhere.  Without a context it is difficult to know what to suggest.

Thanks for the advice! The first map is the beginning of a sewer area.

Scroll down this page of White Patisserie's stuff and you'll find drain outlets for sewers.  You can use the animated version if you want extra oomph on your map.  As it is, your sewer looks far too pristine.  Sewers are nasty, slimy places, with junk like broken barrels floating around.  I think Paladinthug has a floating barrel in his thread of resources.  matseb2611 had some floating debris in a recent REStaff resource release.  That will be on his resource thread.

Hey guys! Here's a video from my Busted Ed's Tips 'n Tricks Demo. The first one I made :p

This is game footage, everything shown here was made by events, there are no scripts used here whatsoever.

@BustedEd - those effects look really nice! I especially like the water animation! I really like how it makes the water look and cannot stop wondering how you do it! I want to have my water look like that! haha
