    @Sinweaver

    Thanks for replying. I've made a few changes now but it's probably not worth re-uploading.

    For the window on the right, I changed it to a centered window. As for the on the left, I picked a smaller window, but it still slightly covers the support beam. I'll have to edit a window later on, but for now I think I'll leave it since that house is barely visible in the map and is not reachable yet in game.

    For the small shack - I like the height of it even though it's different from the other houses since I feel they wouldn't have had to build the houses with any consistency. I do agree about the window though, so I picked a different window that's higher up and smaller so it fits better and is not too close to the ground anymore.

    I'm not sure what you meant about the chimney unless you mean it looks weird coming out of the middle of the roof as if the fireplace inside is right in the middle of the room. I actually had it on the back wall inside, so I did edit it to look like it protrudes from the back side of the roof, near the wall, instead of in the middle.

    The chimney feels unnatural.

    The wider part of the chimney are usually pretty much hidden under the roof. Even if they are to go over, it won't go over that much.

    I suppose that is a personal bias which may not apply to all cases out there, but don't forget to also take a look at the chimney's shadow.

    Based on the shadow pen usage, the light on your map seem to come from the west side, but the chimney's shadow doesn't add up. Instead of casting a shadow on the ground, it should have casted shadow on the roof instead.

    Maps of the cyberpunk game I'm working on. It's inspired by the Shadowrun Returns games.

    @zombie parrot - A little shift clicking is needed to remove the autotile edges by the stairwell, I'd recommend using the floor tiles with the darkened top edge under the buildings. For the taller buildings i'd again suggest shift mapping to create a little distinction between floors (example), there seems to be a little gap in your door tiles and the bricks behind are slightly visible, not sure what's causing this. The streetlights and glow event have a odd straight cut, maybe set the glow to be above the player. The papers in the first screenshot on the red building belong on the floor and the untextured beige in the second screenshot looks really off - I'd use the A2 dirt autotile. I think you may have imported the tileset wrong because all your shadows seems to be solid black rather than semi transparent. I like the sign, you should add a glow to it.

    This is my first time using RMG Maker and would like the opinion on my world map thus far. I will be adding in more islands to fill in the rest of the map. Any suggestions on how to improve it a gladly welcome. This map is 256x256.

    Thank you for all your suggestions.

    @a noble wolf

    It's definitely a good start, however I'm telling you right now that 256x256 is going to lag HARD. It might be good to remove the edges where there is JUST water to make the map run a little bit better, there's no sense in having wasted space.

    Need someone to tell me if this is too cluttered. Size 23x26 tiles in MV

    I'm probably going to redo the tracks because of the unnecessary bends.

    @SomaelCK:

    Thanks <3

    @MektiKwiiger

    I even think it is way too empty O:

    You could maybe add some water somewhere.

    Some more variation in height..... a few animals, etc.

    So I'm working on my first game atm, and I am trying to get my first area looking as good as possible. It's just a very small island where the first quest of the game opens up access to the main map. But I just can't seem to get it looking the way I want with the water. Here is the area with multiple different types of water:

    Hey guys,

    I've only used RPGMaker MV since Jan 2nd but I'm really loving it so far.

    The nostalgia is real and it's inspired to make some great projects. But on to the topic at hand.

    I'm working on my first full map.  Before, the map was just this:

    Tolvia First Map.JPG
    I spent some time observing some sample maps, I managed to make this:

    Tolvia Working Map.JPG

    What do you think about it so far? Any areas for improvement?

    @JoeMB:

    Why is there a big patch of snowy field 5-6 squares away from a desert?

    The snowy field is also located in a center of grassy fields?
