@Luchino-chan: I love the lighting on your maps. The ground's edge with the water looks strange, though. And remember, to erase the weird shadows made by the cliff edges around the stairways!

@Shingamix: Love the title screen. It must look awesome! I would advise to stylize the choices' font, as well.

Luchino-chan, I like your desert town. Tints are good! I love tints!

@Crazetex: pretty good job ! The ony thing I would change is the deep water on the coast (3rd map) which feels a little weird to me.

Here is my first map on this forum: Castletown entrance. Thoughts ?

Note: I'll be adding NPCs later on.

@Onkie69, how about adding some gaurds to stand watch on the walls itself? Maybe add a set of stairs going downward in order to show how they get up and down too, many people forget small details such as that. Also, the tree placement at the entrance seems slightly symmetrical, I think you should either change the arrangement of the trees or if the symmetry was intentional, make it more obvious by keeping the same type of tree in line and possibly change the terrain slightly to exaggerate its placement more. The furthest left that the path goes, there is an auto-tile mistake where the edge is flat when it should not be, also the furthest right the path goes, one part pokes out on its own behind a tree, I believe if this were being man-made, they would not do it and it would go completely vertical. Maybe add a bit moss and vines too, to the walls? Sorry for being so critical but the map might need those tweeks :)

Why are you sorry for being critical on a forum dedicated to hobbyists honing and improving upon their craft? Being apologetic helps absolutely nobody.

Onkie: That is cute! It could use a few tweaks, though, like Leumas suggested already. As for your response to the coastline, it's purposeful. That chunk of land with the fortress on it was broken off of the main continent by the villain; he moved it to the deep waters to make it harder to reach. (You need the ship instead of just the boat to get there.) It looks odd but is intentional! =3

From experience, there are some people out there who take great offence to being critical, plus I'm like that by nature, is someone hits me I say sorry to them haha.

Then they need to learn? Your criticisms are polite and appropriate. Anybody taking offense to your criticisms or others like it is useless and shouldn't be sharing on a public forum!

@Leumas:

Thanks for sharing your opinion, I don't get offense from critics, don't worry ;)

I think that they are very valuable.

I tried to make a few changes, but it looks overly symetrical now... I don't really know how to make it both symetrical (man-made) and natural. I thought right to make it a little wilder outside the walls of the town... Since this map does not show the whole wall, I don't feel the need to put the stairs (I think that they are usually put at the corners of the walls).

@Ookie, Hmm, maybe keep the trees outside non-symmetrical, clump some together and thin them out the closer they get to the castle? Or maybe just remove the 4 trees that aren't surrounded by long grass? I think it looks nice personally haha.

@Nicke, at the beam's brightest, I think it's too bright. Anything that's bright enough to remove parts of the map from vision is too bright in my opinion :)

It looks fine Onkei, and yes the guards on the walls make things look a bit more alive. Although the outdoor grass, trees and flowers (the ones outside the walls) look funny placed symetrically. If it's design by choice maybe with bushes or a bit more crowded so it feels man-made as you say.

Oh yeah way too heavy Nicke even for a clear sky, especially for natural sunlights, albeit the effect and animation is neat.

Edit: Bwahah look at you calling Onkei > Ookie... *budum pish*

Meh, I'm tired.

Oh, and just thought I'd show off a couple maps I done YEARS ago. I've just been going through my Photobucket account and oh my I think I was good haha.

Gosh, so many hours spent mapping :3

@EZ: funny, I did not notice the transformation (Onkei69 > Onkie > Ookie). Anyway, I guess I'm gonna keep a bit of natural mess outside the walls, it looks better :p

@Leumas: I really like how lively your tiles are. I wonder how you changed the colors... My only question is: what is a rope doing on the table of what looks like a library ? o_O? And by the way, I'm not Ookie, just Onkei ^^

@Nicke: it really looks nice ! I wonder how you did this. I'd rather shorten a bit the length for the maximum opacity (if you see what I mean...?)

Have you make these light beams or where have you found them ?

@Crazetex: Yeah, I can't live without my tints. Maps are so drab and dull without them, imo.

@Leumas: I remember some of those maps. And I still recall you giving me some of my first mapping advice back on RMVX. ^^

Updated title screen for my project's new release.

Finally hit that 5 hour benchmark I've been aiming for for so long... I seriously need to resize Siglud... ><

No maps this time. ^^

@Luchino-chan: The menu looks very nice, but I think the character portraits somehow contrast a little too much with the rest of the menu.

@ShinGamix: The background looks a little pixelated, but cool nonetheless. Actually, it might just add to the coolness.

Uhm, so, I made something again. I thought it'd be easier to show a vid than post some pictures...

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
