luchino, those faces don't fit in at all. they look like they were awkwardly blown up, and don't match the game resolution.

Lot of noobs'error for a first map like making a parallax smaller than 544x416 and being unable to make a prettier light effect for the candle.

Hard for us to have input on it with the ridiculous watermark right on top of the visible area of the map.

Yeah really hard to see with that watermark. From what I CAN see though, it looks nice. Not sure how I feel about the wall vs. rtp objects. I don't think something fits. And the floors seem too large in pattern compared to everything else.

@Chaos17: It's hard to see with that watermark, either make it smaller or remove it alltogether.

The map itself looks pretty nice, though. It has mysterious feel to it. :)

@Luchi: I agree with needles, while the maps look nice, the portraits don't fit in at all.

I suggest you go back and clean them up a bit. Also, the tiles in the first screenie seem kinda weird,

in the way that the two stone tiles keep going back and forth in a random pattern.

@Quigon: Now that is just sexy, my friend.

Some of screenshots from a VX game I might be reviving soon.

Figure i'll try get some feedback here.

This is a secret lab from my intro. The hallway leads into the larger map, the guard sprites are placeholders.

@needles, Avvy: Yeah, that's why I'm going to rehaul all the drawings. I was just looking them over again, and they are just too big ( and a bit blurry ). Hopefully, the new art will look something like this...

Just a test. ^^ Pretty as my FE edits are, rips are still rips in the end...

I still love the style though.
in terms of overall quality and size.

@paradoxum - I like what I see over all. The only thing that stands out to me is the security checkpoint in the first pic. I would make the top side match the bottom. Make a separate room for the guards. Just looks weird to me having half the hallway cut off. I kind of look at it like it should be a entrance and exit. One side is checking who is coming in and the other to make sure no one is trying to sneak things out.

@quigon: looks like my computer room. Lots of clutter. I find that awesome.

@luchino: gonna take your advice and break down that massive map into smaller ones. It will be a lot easier to manage

New pic. important area in my project. Its where you discover monsters are being manufactured.

to go along with

@Kuvo: The maps look okay. But the Mack styled and XP styled characters don't fit together so I'm hoping they're just placeholders for now. Also, that UFO is too blurry. Is it supposed to be far away or it's right near the character?

Here another 2 screenshots of my VXA project:

@EE: Mack forever. :) Though if you are using them, I'd suggest you stick to the Mack trees in the first screen. Try to keep them consistent. Maybe you could also add a table or two to the middle of that room, right now, it looks a little empty. Or even better, a carpet. :)

5 minute mapping test ( everything was done in that time frame, lighting, events etc. ). I actually wanted to test out the new portraits that Ronove is helping

me out with. :) But the above area still falls into the game. It's called the Ulaid Forest.

I am in sheer and utter awe of you guys. I feel like a 5 year old being shown something simply amazing when I look at your maps. Makes me realize how much of a design newbie I really am. I can't even figure out how to take a screen to post it xD

I love Laine's new portrait, it's gorgeous. Keep up the good work, though I know you will!

Basically a test dungeon map for an underground archive based off a mspaint map a friend did for me as part of a challenge basically this was quite interesting for using the default tileset though i had to use Heisanman tileset for the bookshelves as well as a mix of the default bookshelves to acheve this. The dungeon is 41 x 36 for this.

@Kuvo: looks original, I quite like it.

@Luchino-chan: always very good mapping, but always too much lights and shadows effects imho!

Hello all,

This is my first attempt to create a indoor location. Still learning the program but i would like to hear the opinions (and helpfull tips). Im not really happy with the beds, for some reason you can only place them either away from the wall, or higher up the wall but not against it like you could in rmxp (if i remember correctly). Anyway here it is :)

Maybe some chairs near the fireplace, some decorations on the wall facing the entrance. I feel like there should be at least some kind of table there with flowers too. The carpet at the entrance isn't behind the wall like the rest of it is.

Other than that it looks nice. :)

Thanks, and yeah i agree there needs to be more decoration and some fine tuning. I just noticed the fish plate isn't fiting on the kitchen either xD This was just testing and see what i could do with the rtp but i shall try to add some more stuff into to make it more like a house :) Thanks for the feedback.

Tried the interior yesterday. Today i been working on a small church and a inn. Im planning to use these buildings for my future game, though for now they aren't implanted in a game yet, For the church im thinking about making a clock to finish it off. The Inn has two buildings as it will be found on a road and not in a town. You have the main building where there are rooms to rent and a pub below. And the stables (to the left) for the horses. This is my first time trying to make buildings so all tips are welcome :)

@Joeri - The inn is nice but the church's flat roof does look a little out of place with the gable in the back of it. I guess that is where the bell would be?

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
