I like it a lot, jayde15.

The house looks very warm and inviting. I'm not sure if that's what you intended, but that's what I think when I see it. The lighting really helps too. The little weed plants...are they able to be walked over? I'm curious because one of them is blocking the path to the door.

Here are a few of things I'd do with that map :3 Stick to one kind of window, you have the big and small ones there, they look a bit strange next to each other like this, to me. I'd also say the small door doesn't go well with big windows, so try one of the bigger ones. Finaly, if you're going for a house with big windows and doors, four tiles high is about right for a two story house, but with little windows and doors, 2 tiles high is good :3 I'd also consider changing that leaf wall around the house for trees

I think the tilesets fit perfectly together Usagi! Except something seems a little weird to me about the little blue flowers under the big tree. I don't want to say it doesn't match with the rest of the tileset as that's not exactly what I mean...looks a bit blurry. :hmm

Oh, and the map looks great! ^_^

Well, it looks pretty good, but there isn't much to see. If I were you, I would make the image border a bit larger and slightly thinner so that more of the map can be shown.

Mapping wise, the only thing I don't like is the dark green around the path. I know it is supposed to be a divider between the grass and path, but the green color should be a bit lighter with a slight contrast boost. That should make it blend in a bit better while still keeping it noticeable.

Oh, and I am noticing that the slime is moving over the flowers, but those particular ones are supposed to be a bit tall, so they may look a bit better if the sprites went behind the tops of the flowers.

Anyways, awesome job with the map though. It is looking pretty good.

Yes, I like it much better than the other one, though I liked the other one too. Except the weed plant by the left entrance (?) is in a line exactly with the patch of grass. Maybe move it or the patch of grass to the left...?

Looks pretty cool. I won't lie.

However, I would use the dirt fall-off tile all the way around instead of switching between that and grass. If you notice, your grass auto-tile has dirt edges, so the fall-off being grass doesn't make as much sense as if it was dirt.

Also, I am wondering why there is a huge cracked spot on the wall of the house. I mean, you may tell why it is there in the story or maybe you were going for a more dilapidated look, so it may just be me. However, if you were going for the dilapidated look, I would put more cracks and maybe some debris.

It's very fancy (maybe too much) but those flashing weapons on the enemy side are gonna give me epilepsy. They are really aggravating to look at.

Hmm If you were to point out things that strain your eyes I actually expected other examples that I felt were probably bigger concerns than the weapons. But thanks, I'll try to adjust it. And it concerns me when you point out that it's too fancy. Your usage of 'but' at first made me think of it as a plus (while the weapons being epileptic as the negative), but then I read what's inside the brackets, which confused me. As you suggest it in a negative connotation, could you elaborate on why you felt the need to point it out?

What I mean is that if every other skill has fancy animations or makes the party have to step out of the way all the time it loses it's initial effect. It's cool if you use it sparingly. But what happens is that when you have a lot of things do it, it becomes overload. Like for example if you highlight a few things, what's highlighted bounces off the page and grabs your attention, but if you highlight everything then it's the same as nothing being highlighted and nothing is more significant than the other and you're left squinting at all the brightness for no reason. Use it sparingly like it's a heavy spice and you'll do good. There's such thing as too much of a good thing. Just be careful with what you got. Hope you get what I mean.

I don't even think the weapons look that good to be honest. They're so huge and out of place when compared to the tiny sprites, they just look weird. Especially when they keep flashing in and out like that, it makes your eyes go straight to them and ignore what's going on everywhere else (which makes the menu really hard to look at). They don't even seem to be aligned behind the guy that's using them, they're just lined up all over the top of the screen. They also look extremely simple and lacking in detail compared to the sprites or the UI (most of them are just simple shapes filled with a solid color).

Also, I think the battlefield itself looks really strange. You have a huge amount of empty screenspace, then tiny sprites fighting in the middle with huge epic effects and music. It just seems out of place to me. You should try having bigger more detailed sprites. If not for the player characters, at least the boss.

Agreed. What Usagi has done, is the equivalent of a singer using auto-tune. You can't just take a fraction of a map (with a conveniently place dove, no less) and add watermarks and frame it. It's like asking how a car looks, and only showing a picture of the rims.

If you want real criticism, post entire screens of your map. Don't pull a "McDonalds"
