Thank you very much for taking your time to criticize for me! What you both said are definitely valid points that I need to work on.

(Raven, you were definitely right with certain aspects being overused; I guess I got carried away when I wanted to test a few things and it came out according to my taste xd)

And Kaelan, yes, I cannot agree more with what you suggested. It really is a pity though; when the players fight antagonists that use kaduki sprites as their medium, I wanted it to stay consistent with how they look even in battle. Of course, there's plenty of big and detailed monster sprites out there, but sometimes that's just not what I need. I guess I'll need to look into spriting, because I feel as if I've limited my options.

And as you both have mentioned, I suppose the weapon sprites will have to go. I sort of wanted it to have that feeling where they're hovering overhead, ready to rain down on the players. I guess I'll just make my own less obnoxious and out-of-place animations for this.

I'll sheepishly admit it really isn't difficult to do. I'm using a script called Map Title by OriginalWij, which pretty much takes care of all the technical aspects of how it works. Other than that, it's just eventing. (e.g. interact with the tree, turn on a switch that enables parallax mapping which changes how the map looks)

I really hate when people that use that tileset use the exact same grass tiles under water, it just looks horrible. Als for a bridge that long theyd have probably built an actual bridge, note a rope one.

Two development maps made for the last area for the demo release of my game. No lighting effects, tints etc. Just raw tileset mapping.



I may have made a elevation error here somewhere. I can never get it right.




Those crystals are not magical McGuffins, btw.

You're using far too many different styles of flowers. I'd consider not using the benben ones and sticking to Mack + RTP.

Yeah, i agree. It's like they've never seen a river bed before.

I agree with the problem of the same grass underwater, as for the rope bridge, it is completely fine imo, these things exist in real life



That rope bridge is Pretty damn long. :o

Plus it all really comes down to the type of people that live/built it there.

@SolarGale. My opinion was more based around the overall width of the bridge and the fact that theres no arch in it. If it was a one man bridge with an arch id agree, but being that wide with no arch it just looks odd, and imo a more actual supported bridge would do better there.

I thought I would upload videos of what I've been working on for a better idea this time.

Still making changes here and there... But with my little-to-no knowledge in scripting, I don't think I'm getting very far.

Hello everyone, this will be my second post here...my first was in the introduction/farewell section. I figured I'd get started right away and share some of my recent work with this community. I look forward to exchanging ideas and conversations with many of you.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
