Without the fade this time. I hope it is more.... logical and realistic. LOL! ^_^
Does your world have for example magic, dragons or something else like that (fantasy elements)?

If yes, you can always make an excuse why the area looks weird. Heck Guild Wars Factions got this petrified forest thing going to explain the odd look of the areas.

@Clord:

LOL! There is Powers, which is not magic, but rather the "power" to generate or manipulate nature. But, what did you mean by "you can always make an excuse why the area looks weird"? :)

It looks great, not weird. I really like what you've done with the longer grass transition and, well, everything looks really nice. Wonderful job~

Jaydee: Looks much better now, although I think you could make the angles on the tall grass less auto-tiley. Either way, way better than it was.

I actually parallax everything, I don't do anything in the editor anymore. Thanks though, I remember the shift auto tile tip from VX though, i'm sure someone here can make use of it :D Here's my current progress

I need shadows. That's a good idea. I'll mess with that. Anyways, if anyone has any other opinions, please raise them i'm open to suggestions.

I think you should fill the circled spots with the brown-colored carpet and removed the colorful red carpet, which seems outta place with the rest. I do prefer the red carpet over the brown. It'd make the map a lot more colorful. :)

@Shablo5

I gotta agree with Rimmintine here, specially since the rug seems to bee underneath the staircase, doesn't look too natural IMO.

@ Mr. Big T: Very cute. You might try a thin black outline around the white letters to help them be more readable.

I've been happy with all my maps so far but I feel... unsure about this one. This is a plot important area, it's a workshop for a tinkerer who works with advanced gadgets and also researches lost technology that fuses machine and magic. I was looking to make a messy work area.

Honestly I think I have no idea what I'm doing with this specific map.

Everything in that room is lined up with the grid.

Find out how to break the grid and you'll be set.

You've got bookcases and cupboards in the upper right corner, but no way for the player to reach them. Even if there's nothing there, move things around a bit so there's walking room. There's what - a pile of armor? - sitting right in front of a book that's open and was clearly being read, and now the armor is blocking access to it.

Making the map smaller will give it a more cluttered feeling, and you won't have to put in lots of the same stuff to give that impression.

@DemonLamma Underneath the stairs, there's a area where some shadow is missing. I also agree with the above statements. The map makes no logic whatsoever.

Yeah I was trying to give the impression that he had too much stuff and didn't care much about the shelf area so he just ended up stacking everything in the corner he didn't use.(I do in fact have a completely inaccessible bookshelf in my room behind a mountain of boxes, I based it off of that)

I'll try moving things around and removing the metal piles cause I've realized those look terrible. I think my issue with it is that it looks more like a warehouse and not a workshop.

Yeah, in a workshop for an inventor, he'd probably have things close by. He won't want to be walking from one side of a big room to the other all the time. So one dirty bench with all his tools scattered around, shelves from floor to ceiling behind him and beside him, and a few things piled up on the floor, would probably give it more of a "scatterbrained scientist" look. The things on the tables are spread out too evenly, with too much space between them, and you really don't get tables shaped like that - in a U shape to wrap around walls (unless it's custom made) - I'd make them individual, straight tables, and clutter them up (use TileE to parallax stuff piled up to get rid of the weird spacing). And would an inventor really have a glass of beer AND two bottles on the table, along with another bottle or two on the other side of the room? Drinks can be spilled and ruin what he's creating, so it's more likely there'll be nothing consumable anywhere around.

Also, the set of scales on the table at the back of the room is not ON the table - it's floating in front of it.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
