Hey. I'm wondering why I have done something wrong again in my game. Testing it earlier today at the intro scene, I have realised once it is complete that the game freezes after a switch is set to turn on at the end of the intro. I have tried an autorun trigger, action button trigger and parallel process trigger for the particular event but the result is still the same. The PC freezes after the switch is turned on and the event finishes.

The event body with the switch is long, so I'll be unable to printscreen it. It is turned on before more of the event plays until the end, where I have a self switch for the third event page so it does not repeat. I will printscreen the event I think is causing the problem.Falling apart.png

Where I have the PC starting here is after the intro event, where he can move as the switch is not turned on at that point. It is also the exact location the game freezes when I have had the intro playing. Is there any way around the problem? As I mentioned before, I have tried an autorun, parallel process and action button trigger to no avail. The plan behind this event is so that it looks like another tremor has happened, which in the intro event it does. And I have also got the same event as a common event which is not called up, just to see if I can implement that if this problem persists.

Use Trigger: Parallel Proccess instead.

Autorun takes away control of the player, until something either erase the event or turn it to another event page.

The thing is, I fail to understand what you wanna make happen to give you better info. Anyway. try that and good luck.

Never use parallel process unless you need to. It can really slow things down, especially if you have multiples on the same map.

Something like this that only affects appearance should be working fine on action button trigger, however, I would set it up with two pages - one with no condition and no graphic set, and one set up like this with action button trigger (as autorun/parallel is not needed in this case).

I have a feeling the issue lies with some other event being set to autorun. Events on autorun with no conditions or met conditions should always end with something changes the conditions or uses a self-switch to set the event to a static page, as I outlined above, otherwise the autorun event loops endlessly.

In my signature is a tutorial on autorun events and why they cause issues like what you're seeing.

The event you've got there has no commands, so it doesn't need to have an autorun OR a parallel process trigger.  Just set it back to Action Button.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
