Game starts but immediately closes.

So I've downloaded a game on the internet and upon opening it the game window starts up and immediately closes. No Error message, nothing.

So do you expect anyone to know what to do if there's absolutely no data provided to work with?

A link to the game so others can test it on their own computer would be nice. Of course, it has to be a title that is publicly available for free. If it's a commercial game, contact its developer instead.

either the game is defective, or your antivirus closes it for being virus-infected

There's also a chance that the game writes an error log file after it crashes. Since it doesn't display a message box as well, it simply closes it.

A bit farfetched to say "a chance", that'd be a really small chance.
Never have seen an Ace-game putting logs somewhere.

And well, I don't expect much to happen here anymore since the user who has/had a problem with an unknown game vanished into void of inactivity right after their very-first post was submitted.
