I am in need of a tester to test the demo for my game The Book of Shadows. The demo takes 2.5 - 3.5 hours to play through, and I need someone who is willing to commit to playing through the entire demo length.

The current Early Project Development page can be found here: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/32221-the-book-of-shadows-chapter-1-screenshots-updated-2132015/

And, just so you don't have to go there to read up on the game, here are the basic details:

Introduction

The Book of Shadows is an RPG game about a young man who, through a series of events, ends up finding this mysterious book, then ends up teleported into a fantasy world. Mysterious people however are after him, can you help him stay one step ahead of them and figure out why the book is so important?

The World:

The game is set in two worlds. The first world is our world Earth, years into the future. However, a major accident in the year 2018 has caused a disruption of many of the world's governments, and halted technological progress significantly. The citizens of the world refer to this accident as the divide, due to how it has made it nearly impossible to live in the more northern climates. The United States has survived the events of the divide, though some states are deserted now due to inhabitable conditions. As such, the US essentially has split up into 4 regions, the SW (California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas), the Midwest (Missouri, Iowa, Southern Minnesota, Southern Wisconsin, Illinois, eastern edge of Kansas), the SE (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama) and the NE (Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania).

The second world is the fantasy world, which does not have a world name (due to no unity among the citizens on what to call it), but is instead referenced by the 12 kingdoms. The kingdoms are Elmwood, Mercury, Shadowdale, Eagle, Phoenix, The Orcs (what they call it we never managed to translate), Damacia, Midnight, Thingamajic (also called the Gnome Kingdom as they could not be bothered to give it a proper name), Krystalis, The Dwarfen Lands (the Dwarfs didn't want to name it anything fancy), and the Necromancer lands (what they call it we don't know). The world fought a war about 400 years ago with someone called the Dark One, who thought that humans and human-like creatures could not be trusted, and should be controlled instead. The lands managed to unite to defeat him, and the heroes of the battle then settled down and founded the 12 current kingdoms. However, the heroes never trusted each other well, and this distrust still shows in how the kingdoms treat each other to this day.

Most of the game will take place in the kingdoms of Elmwood, the Orc Lands, and the Dwarfen Lands, though the other kingdoms will be mentioned from time to time by the characters. Though, for some reason, some Earth technology is present in the fantasy world. Maybe the two worlds are connected somehow?
Characters:

The game currently has 24 characters. Below are a few of the characters, with focus on those that appear in the demo or at least make an appearance in the demo.

Alex: The main character. He ends up teleported into another world via early events in this game.

Talia: Next door neighbor of the main character. She loves to tinker and make things.

Steve: Friend of Alex, who has become very rich over the last few years.

Sarah: Young girl who finds the main character when he teleports into the fantasy world. Very intelligent, she says what is on her mind whether or not you wish to hear it.

Marie: Oldest child of the Stardew family. For some reason she has been the target of Deathwhisper's attacks, though no one knows why, though Liana has some theories about this.

Liana: Second child of the Stardew family. She wishes to become an alchemist someday.

Jarvis: The youngest child of the Stardew family. A bit of a hot-head, especially when his sisters appear to be in any sort of danger.

John: Bodyguard of Liana, he lives for two things, food and women. Constantly flirts with Sarah, much to her dismay.

Phoenix: John's 'little' sister, as he puts it, even though she is 18 now. She is constantly trying to find ways to escape from her brother's shadow, and to get him to stop treating her like a kid.

Deathwhisper: You don't know his true name, though that is what others call him. Necromancer that seems to want Talia for some reason, but for what?

George: Goblin servant of Deathwhisper. Tends to do whatever his handbook tells him to do, whether or not it is a good idea.

Rebecca: Childhood friend of Sarah's, but they have had a falling out about 6 years ago. Now Rebecca serves Deathwhisper faithfully.

Savnia: Young Necromancer studying with the Magi, and Deathwhisper's younger sister.

Can you trust her? Should you trust her?

Josie: Savina's roommate, a tad shy but opens up once she gets to know you.
Features:

-Currently has an intro, and 4 Chapters. Also includes 4 side quests which you can complete in Chapter 1, and 5 more in Chapter 2.

-About 2.5 - 3.5 hours of playtime before the demo ends. The full game has currently crossed the 9 hour mark (at least in my save file), and I figure I'm 1/3 done with making the full game at this point in time.

-A world where almost everyone is one of 8 elements, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Life, Death, Energy, Mind. Anyone that is of the fire element is weak to ice (and vice versa), anyone that is of earth is weak to air (and vice versa), anyone that is of life is weak to death (and vice versa), and anyone that is energy is weak to mind (and vice versa). You can use this to exploit weaknesses of your enemies, but they can do the same to you too!
Screenshots:

How about Option D, I have no idea?

Sounds...wonderful?

Wandering around a garden.

Menu scene of the first four party members. As you can see, the game uses Yanfly's menu system, with some modifications so the party member's JP is shown, as well as their gender and age.

-Some of the skills you can learn in game. In this screenshot, you see the Level 3 Energy Mage spells.

-Up arrow means the spell is a buff, down arrow means it is a debuff. The icon on debuff reset means it clears out buffs (or debuffs), and the purple ball means it is a direct damage spell.

What I need is someone to try and break the demo, try things I didn't think of, and tell me where things don't make sense or an oops was made. In return for you doing this for me, I am willing to test your game in return.

I anticipate the demo will be ready for testers around March 8th or so, so if you can help me out with this, please post here or PM me. Thanks!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
