Hey, for anyone who can help me I have been working on my first game with the Rpg Maker Vx ace program and am a total noob to scripting. I tried to use a script call for a quest log script. At first the program was running smoothly and the game was progressing as planned, until a dreaded error approached me while play testing. During one of the events that I created where a script call to add a quest was supposed to take place caused a "typeerror" that states "can't convert symbol into Integer". I was surprised due to the fact that I didn't change anything in the script call, but I probably caused the problem myself somehow unknowingly. The error stated that it had something to do with the Game_Interpreter script on line 1409, in which the line just states eval(script). The error says that this is the issue, but am unsure please help. And thanks in advance for your assistance.  ;_;

Please provide the links to the scripts you're using and screenshots of the events that create the error - and the exact error message (down to all spaces in that message, best as a screenshot)

"Game_Interpreter" handles most of the events and script evaluations, and an error there could be caused by a lot of different problems - not neccessarily in the script call.

Also we need to see the full script call you are doing, so make sure that's visible in one of the screenshots. If it's only partly visible (goes off the right hand side), edit that line and give us a screenshot of the Call Script command window.

I edited my first post with the screenshots you requested and as for the links to the scripts (Yanfly Ace Engine):

Quest Log-> http://pastebin.com/4pAz9KG5

Retcon Library-> http://rpgmaker.net/scripts/272/code/

Thanks for your help guys I really appreciate it and hope that this covers all the information you need. I just included these two scripts due to the fact that these two are the ones that are relevant to the problem at hand.

No. it doesn't.

As shaz said, we need the full screenshot of the event, not cropped partial pictures.

Just FYI: A few weeks ago someone else had problems with Algebra's quest journal as well, and he didn't even understand what we asked for (the modified version of the script including the changes), because he didn't put the quest description into the script (where they were supposed to be), but put them into script call boxes (where they didn't work because they were data structures, not ruby commands).

So please provide full screenshots of the events that contain the script calls, and your modified variant of the quest journal script (so we can check wether or not you entered the quest descriptions correctly).

If you have problems making the screenshots, you can do the same as the person a few weeks ago did when nothing else gave us an idea of his error: he uploaded the entire game for us to check and linked it in the post.

Here is a link to a video that shows me going through the event that encounters the problem. I apologize for not fully comprehending what you meant before and will do my best to cooperate with you in solving this issue. Thank you for still aiding me through my ignorance as well it really means a lot. Please do alert me of any other information you need or if I didn't do something correctly.

Unfortunately this is not helpful at all. At the default size, the text is far too small to read. Fullscreen, it's too blurry.

Please just provide what we ask so that we can help you. Either post the FULL window of the affected events and if you've made any changes to the script, post that too (the WHOLE script, not just snippets - use spoiler and code tags to keep it formatted), or upload your game so we can take a proper look at it and not have to ask you for anything else.

Providing other things that we do not ask for will just keep us going 'round in circles. :)

When somebody asks you for a script, it is actually much better for you to go into the script editor, select the entire script and copy it, then paste the script into your post, using code tags to keep the formatting, and spoiler tags if needed (for a long script) to stop it taking up so much space, than to take a couple of screenshots here and there. The bits you've chosen to include in the screenshot still don't provide enough information to work this out.

However, I'll be able to figure the problem out now that I have your project. What is the map and event that cause the error?

Thanks for the tip I will remember that for next time, I apologize. I am having issues on map ID: 015 with event: 004 and map ID:008 with event: 009 thanks again. These two events say the same exact error when only when I add the script calls. When removing the script calls they act fine.

Given the evidence, we heavily suspect that you are using a pirated RPG Maker, which is not tolerated here and we have an instant-ban policy regarding this. You have now been banned. If you feel we were incorrect and you have been falsely accused, you can send us a support question with proof of your purchase of the RPG Maker to revert our decision.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
