EDIT: I solved the below issue. I changed the Max Steps from 0 (which is supposed to be unlimited) to 5 and boom, all three steps showed up. I'm not sure why 0 isn't working the way it should...


So, this is a pretty fantastic plugin! Thank you so much for your work so far.


I'm having a bit of a problem though. For one of my quests, the player has to collect 3 different ingredients. I want all three to show in the quest. I've added them as steps in the editor. Each step has a title, checked Show Progress and then set to a variable (max value: 2,2,1 respectively - the amounts of each).


The quest giver has the Plugin Command: Quest Add 2, along with Plugin Command: Quest NextStep 2 (Twice, to show both steps 2 & 3).


The problem is, when I do this only the 2nd and 3rd steps are shown in the Quest Log. If I take out the second "NextStep" the first two Steps will show. So, it seems that I'm only able to show 2 steps at a time.


I checked the Plugin Manager and went to the script and checked out "Max Steps". It's set to 0... so I'm not sure what else could be causing the problem. Any suggestions?

Another issue has crept up that might have something to do with this plugin.


So, when I go to do a Battle Test, it now says, "Error, Failed to Load: data/Test_Quests.json"


Does that have anything to do with this plugin?

It does. Just make a blank txt file and name it Test_Quests.json and put it in your data folder.

Hmmm... I tried that and now I get a different error.


"Error, Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input"

Oh, uhh, copy your Quests.json file and rename the copy to Test_Quests.json


I forgot that it probably still looks for structure in the file.

Edit: I deleted my quests.json file, and redownloaded the editor, and used it to make a new one with 5 categories. The same thing happened.

I have the same problem. Version 1.2.1.

Sorry for the long break, had a lot to do and nearly no time to programm stuff.
It only started happening when I started a new game....  I don't have any saved games at the moment.  I'll just leave it off for the time being.

i did, it's cause i dont set the porject, now i have question how to make button or text onclick for questfilter? i want to make change quest filter when i click filter label(example "all"). because i want to make for mobile so cant use right/left cursor/key.  and i want also create left and right button to change filter like in my screenshot below but i dont know how to add clicklistener/handler.

I agree with this one, just remember that I planned to export my game to Android. Scrolling quest detail window is achievable, although cumbersome (you must click at the scroll triangle). But this is optional, just work on the main features first :)


@dyaskur do you have the JS (the plugin) installed to your game project? I think the quest editor will only work when you have installed the plugin.


EDIT: Silly me, I didn't notice you have answered your own question  :D

I'm so grateful for what you're doing for this project. Your quest editor is simply amazing and so simple to use. I'm very sorry gamus didn't go though with this but immensely happy you picked it up.


I CANNOT wait for you to make it more like the VX ACE version visually. That I guess is the thing I am more excited for as everything else is working as expected. Do you have an aproximate time for that release?


Also, a question, can you execute a sound effect, like a victory or fanfare music after completing a quest?

Also, a question, can you execute a sound effect, like a victory or fanfare music after completing a quest?
You can do that in the event itself...  Or you can make a common event that you call whenever you complete the quest.

It's not a freeze, I can click on "file" or "help", try to chose a new directory, close it,etc...
But I can't go forward that.

I will also add extra debug feature in the nex release so I can debug thing like this better

this is something witch should come with the ui remake

Doesn't show any steps with it set to -1, and I also tried it with 1; also showed no steps.


I think I've managed to find a temporary fix. It's to make one extra step afterwards and leave it empty which allows it to read all of the steps.
should work correctly now with max steps to 0

I have the same problem. Version 1.2.1.

I have updated it every time it tells me to.

somehow you got beond the inital correct folder check .... what excatly did you do there ?

oh **** forgot to remove debug .... ok can you send me the log file ? it should be there "%localappdata%/QuestEditor/app-1.2.2/" called rendere.log or main.log
