Depending on the price, exactly what kind of music was included, and the scripts it came with, I may be interested.  In my opinion, that style of graphics, while not suited to any game I'm working on at the MOMENT, could be worked in as either a dream sequence, or a drug sequence.

To me, being able to do that seamlessly with what resources I already have (I assume they all integrate like that) would bring an extra bit of dimension to a game that involves the aforementioned sequences.

Lateral thinking, I guess.

I'd most definitly will be getting this if you do. Although I prefer the skill learning setup found in SNES SaGa, the SaGa 2 for GBA/DS is great as well <3. This is actually pretty great since I'm working on a saga inspired game.

This specific GB pack, as it's looking now, is probably something I'd have to pass on. Like many others have said, a GBC/GBA style is something that I'm far more interested in, with a bit more colour to it. Not to make an entire game out of but for various mini games.

As for specifically what sort of things I'd like to see included, less in the way of auto tiles and more in the way of unique individual items, icons, characters and other event central sort of stuff to go in all sorts of mini games. If your character was a gamer, what sort of games would he/she be playing, and what would be needed for short segments of those games? I'd like a small but varied set of options, like a few things for a platformer, something else for a Sci-Fi shoot 'em up, maybe a little cowboy action (would give me that little extra nudge needed to get the cowboy music pack recently advertised) and some sort of JRPG elements for this RPG character to play with (like the Star Ocean or Final Fantasy games). Possibly also some systemy graphics and  interfacey things like health icons, GBC/GBA style fonts, some mini game based scripts.

Not asking for all of this but just some things along that sort of nature.

Also, maybe you could do a smaller pack at first and then (if it does well) release subsequent packs based on feedback and requests.

You have my attention...

and I agree with what seems to be a majority here--NES and SNES style retro graphics would be a bonus. I personally want to do the idea of different styled worlds, and each of these sets would work wonderfully with what I have in mind.

Is it going to be only gameboy black & white graphics?

Colored example since people said they didn't like the green (there would be grayscale version too if they want gameboy but not green).

Things included would be icons, sprites, some songs, tilesets, some animations, monsters and battle backgrounds. I have seen some of the responses here and since it's all my work, I can't include things like other peoples songs to loop or things like that. And no filters were used to make this, just pixel art!

So, off to work on it more!

I'd definitely look into buying this if it was coloured like in the example above.

OK! Knowing the color options, I have to say I'd get this now! I'll find a reason to use it, I will!

Another thought too, and I know not every could do this, nor would it make sense for everyone, but sometimes I purchase these packs simply to support the artists. Let's face it, we already get a butt - ton of resources free, so I don't mind every now and then paying for one, even if I'm not entirely sure how / if I'll use it.

Not interested personally, but I think it's a great idea as it adds diversity to the already excellent pool of resources offered on this website.

Maybe. Since I like to do comedic RPG Maker games, I would probably use that theme to throw characters to some retro setting but I don't feel like making a long game just by using retro style like that.

Where's the love for the monotone? Maybe it's because I made a game in that style, but I dig the all green look <3 That being said, I probably wouldn't buy it as I don't have anything planned that would use the style. I assume the tilesets will still be 32x32 and will just be doublescaled (or whatever the proper term is)? That's what it looks like in the preview images anyways.

Even though this style would be completely different then the current packs, I can easily see ether an in game mini game( say a character with a game system in game ) or perhaps a character who gets trapped inside a video game. I will definitely try to get it if it is released.

For me the Game Boy Resource Pack would have to have resources equal in size to the RTP because of it would not blend well with 99%+ of the other resources out there now.

Definitely, as long as you had enough resources to build a game with..

@OceansDream: Hmmm...what about portraits? I don't think many Gameboy RPGs had portraits, for example, but still...it's a thing for Actors in VX and VXAce. Maybe a menu script that uses sprites instead of portraits? I dunno.

Even though personally I probably won't have much interest in Gameboy-Retro-Pack (though a colorized version may be more appealing), other people may want and use such a resource for a project. Plus, having more selection of resources available is a good thing right?

RMMV
I don't think I would buy the pack for my own use, but I would likely buy a game made with them, especially the colour version.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
