I played World of Warcraft. I always think that Ragnarok Online has better gameplay than WOW.

I don't like the max level cap mechanics on World of Warcraft anyway. Surprisingly, Blizzard did it again in Diablo 3.

On my last post, I wrote that I hate FF Series, the reason is personal... It's because of my surrounding, everyone who plays FF or any RPG games is considered a nerd. lol.

GTA Series are also really controversial. Despite its excellent gameplay, the bad language is totally overused and it's not too healthy for the sake of players,

Once again missing the point. There are tons of things you can judge about a game very shortly into it. How much sense the plot makes is not one of them. I stopped playing TWEWY after about 5ish hours maybe. Because I couldn't stand the GAMEPLAY of the game. I have no idea if the plot ever made sense, but I will assume it did. Just because I never saw the parts that put everything in context, doesn't mean it didn't make sense.

Somehow I don't think I am missing the point. My point isn't "FFVII is bad because it doesn't make sense," my point is I stopped playing it for a number of reasons. The story, the gameplay, the characters, even the visuals. If you like it that much, then I'm happy for you. I wish I could like it as much, but to me it's such a dull game. That's all there is to it. I gave up on it, the same way you gave up on TWEWY.

Why is nobody bashing ff7's music, thats as jarring a bad trait it has compared to the OTHER square games during its time as any imo, especially that cheesy hockey arena organ thing they like using in it. Ugh. I mean if you have diff taste sure, but even if you like it you cant deny it just doesnt have the orchestral fantasy vibe to it the last 2 ff games had.

The music at least is amazing. And it's not like they chose to have the game sound like that, they were just going with what they could work with, and what the budget would allow. The XIII series had really awful soundtracks that tried to mix a lot of styles and ended up nailing none of them. Though XIV definitely has one of the best, if not THE best soundtrack in the entire series. And I say that with confidence.

Not saying it's an excuse, just saying it's a possibility. I think VII's soundtrack is perfectly fine, easily the least offensive thing about the game IMO.

So... Has Sonic Adventure 2 been brought up yet?

I kind of liked it when I was a teen... But honestly I can't even understand why I did when I look back at it. I guess that's how hardcore of a Sonic fan I was (don't worry, I still love the blue Hedgehog!).

The game is an incoherent, glitchy, camera-wrestling nightmare. Sonic's gameplay is mostly drowned out by forced mini games with his other friends. The shooting segments at least had some effort put into them, but you have GOT to be kidding me with those treasure hunt segments. The entire concept of those segments are just BS, and they take FOREVER to complete. Maybe that's why Sonic Team decided to remove the traditional time limit from this game?

The story also tried to take itself too seriously, which only managed to make everything seem even more ridiculous than it already is. Sonic's world is that of which little anthropomorphic critters can run faster than a jet plane through loop de loops, and collect golden rings which simply fly about in the air with no explanation as to why or how they exist. How can you make that into some dark, edgy story about a Sonic recolor seeking revenge after the death of his friend? Like... I don't know what the devs were thinking.

Even worse were the boss fights. Most of them are poorly designed, and the Hero vs. Dark character battles in particular are almost entirely reliant on chance, considering you can't possibly discern their attack pattern. Also, can anyone name a good thing about the final boss, other than the music?

This same game is regarded as being one of the best of the franchise, at least by the Sonic fanbase... I honestly think SA1 was better, though that's not saying much.

Its fine if you quit early on for other reasons. I'm saying the reason I've defended it in the thread is that the reasons given by one person are illogical. Not everyone will like every game, even good games.


I was only stating that if you want to criticize a game for not making any sense, you have to see enough of it to put the plot in context, which is not something you said, but something someone else said, which you then said you disagreed with my premise on why his opinion was weird, so I clarified the specific part of his argument that I think can't be judged early in on a game.

Sonic Adventure 2 didn't age very well. I still like the game, but not nearly as much as I did as a kid.

But I'm terrible at explaining things, somecallmejonny on youtube does a much better job if you look him up, he shares a lot of your opinions.

Paladin Cleric, having left the Kirrin in despair, steps forth to try and save other demons from becoming the lackeys of the Good and Pure. No magnificent creature as a demon should ever be forced to bend to the whims of those... those creatures of light.

After much fruitless searching, Paladin-Cleric of awesome stumbles upon a fleeing champion of light and  strides forward, hoping against hope that this one she can save, and with this small victory, perhaps saving others might yet be possible.

It is a Catoblepas, licking it's wounds inflicting by the good, for demons are always affected by such, no matter what the intention.

Paladin-Cleric steps forward, and whispers softly. "I will save you. I will protect you from those that would use you against your nature."

I hate:

I cant really specify on FPS. I mean, I love HL1 and 2 despite it being overhyped. I loved Metro and its sequel, Stalker too. But there are so many FPS games that I dont like that I dont have the will to list them all.

Pokemon in general. I liked the anime back when I was a grade schooler. But now, everything about it feels recycled.

I dislike:

Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise. Let it die.

Legend of Zelda Franchise. Let it die.

Mario Franchise. Let it die.

Silent Hill. I don't know what's so scary about this one. Is it meant to cause psychological fear? The story is a bit.. well.. okay, I guess but it was completely bland. Not boring though.

The Elder Scroll Series. Meh.

The Walking Dead. The ending was a tearjerker though.

The Wolf among us. Too edgy for my taste. I grew two Fedoras just watching a lets play of it.

I'm sure there are plenty more but these are the only ones in my head right now.

I like:

CnC: Tiberium Story. Even 4. CnC4 was a breathe of fresh air in the series. CnC3 felt WAY too bland that even Kane's acting was facepalm-inducing. I'm glad they ended it with 4 though.

StarCraft. Balanced for my standards and it has an over-the-top story about space rednecks, mouthless aliens, and insectoid monsters. What's not to like?

WarCraft. You could really feel the the Tolkien influence in the first and second game. The third one felt different but just right.

Transistor. Holy ****. This is how you do cyberpunk. It lacks heavily on replayability though.

RE1-6. 6 was a bit different but it was fun despite pulling away from the survival horror genre. It felt more of an action TPS though but I understand that RE6 was not meant for the older players as it caters to new one being introduced to the franchise. I really hope they end this soon.

My thoughts:

We really REALLY need more RTS games.

Although to be honest, I don't consider anything with Hatsune Miku an actual "game".
