The original Magi-Nation. I thought it was a forgotten gem, myself. A snarky PC, rather than a dumb, hot-headed one, was a nice change of pace.

Hard as fossilized dog ****. Never beat it, though...
I felt that way about the original card game (as in the physical one), which is really really fast paced and fun, but NOBODY actually played it.

Solstice for the NES. I never actually beat it legitimately, though I used cheats once just because I wanted to see the ending, which was nothing special... Every now and then it's really fun to explore, but before long I always get lost and just give up. :p  The soundtrack (err, I mean, the three or four songs in the game) was awesome, but the map was really no help at all...

I played FF Crystal Chronicles when it first came out. I tried getting my dad to play with me all the time, but the game would always put him to sleep... ;_;  After an eternity we eventually did make it to the final dungeon, and we died so many times that it took us six hours before we finally got to the final boss. And then we couldn't even touch him; his little minions slapped us dead in one hit each. That was horrible.

Also, Conall Curach is hell. The batteries on our GBAs were running low during the boss fight and I was so afraid that all of our suffering would be for naught. In the desert area, one of those giant birds swooped down and stole the chalice. We were like, "The chalice!!" ...Hahaha, that was pretty great.

CC had some really nice music. The boss theme and the themes for the river and ocean were my favorites.

Sounds like you didn't get enough artifacts! It makes the game a lot easier if you go back to dungeons that you already got myrrh from and go through the dungeon again. You don't get myrrh at the end, but you do get artifacts!

And you're lucky to have played it with someone. Me and my sister always had to play single player mode because we didn't have a GBA-GC connector thingy. :(

I did think that was kind of an unfair gimmick. I'm sure they could've found other ways to work around the "four players all needing to use the menu" issue.

But Nintendo went through that weird "OMG CONNECTIVITY LOLZ" phase in the GameCube era...

Your telling me: Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda (twice), and a whole bunch of other games used some kind of function involving the GBA to GC, that we hardly ever use (besides Pokemon).

I'll admit, it was awesome to transfer Pokémon from Colosseum to Ruby/Sapphire and then Pal Park them to the DS. Talk about a long migration! The Pokémon series has always been really ingenious about data transfer (I loved transferring rare items between the games, like Master Balls and evolution stones).

But actually NEEDING the GBA/GCN connector just to play a game... nah, I don't think that's right.

I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who ever played McKids on the NES.

No you're not C:, though when I played it the first time I thought it was a Mario thing, I actually called it "Mario McDonalds".

There was also this game I got once, but the cartridge was in a pretty bad condition, that I thought was a Mario game too (I named it "Worm Mario", because the character coiled like a worm, or that's the farthest I could see between all the glitching graphics -did I already mentioned the cartridge was in a BAD condition and barely worked?-).

But after some time my brother did some "research" (aka random search), and found it. It's actually a pretty funny game, named Armadillo (jap-only), I don't even know how I got that.

The NES was such a nice era by itself,

McKids... was that the game where you played as Ronald McDonald? Didn't they make it for the SNES and/or Sega Genesis, too? I think I played one of those.

Oh, that it was! By the way, I wouldn't say I "liked" these games per se, but once, my dad and I went to FuncoLand (when it was still around) and picked up Solar Jetman and Super Pitfall. The latter cost, like... a quarter. :D

We got lots of other old games from there, too... mostly ones I was curious about from seeing them in old magazines. 3D World Runner was one... and as a matter of fact, Solstice was another.

Magi-Nation huh?  I never knew they had a PC game but I played the heck out of the card game they created.  It was my second favorite to Magic.

This. Well this for magic 7th edition and lower.

But magi-nation was a nifty card game that no one ever played, sad stuff really.

There's this one awesome horror game on the NES that never made it to the US. Sweet Home.  For a NES game, it was actually pretty damn scary.

For an idea of how influential it was, the original Resident Evil started out as a remake of Sweet Home.

Now that someone mentions Bust-a-move, I want to say: Magical Drop!!!! For some time, I was kind of addicted to that game. Never was really good (even if I played it and sometimes made to beat the last level without failing ;D). But played almost every day!

Also there is another game I like, and that is Beatmania. I think the people that know osu! knows it... Anyway, I play a PC version called Lunatic Rave. And before that, I used RDM (Rythm Dreamscape with you! -actually I don't know what does the acronym stand for).

If I recall something else, I will add it to the thread.

@Solo: on MacKids, well, you played as a kid... xD. Just some random kid.

Sweet Home seems like a fine game, I'll remember to take a try of it if I get the chance. Also I wonder what's that Magi-Nation.

So much interesting stuff on this thread!

I'll just post console games since i've played like 1000000000000000000 indie games.

I know Crystal Chronicles.

If a spinoff to a wildly successful series can be obtuse: The Urbz: Sims in the City (for GBA [the console versions are entirely different games]) is the one I cherish. It's a refined version of The Sims: Burstin' out, with a coat of early 00's ghetto fad culture, which... unfortunately makes the game look a bit like a cash in, but it's not, it's actually really good.

Another obscure game that i'm really sad few people played is Feel the Magic: XY/XX. I'll just post a video instead of trying to describe it, but it's an early Nintendo DS game, and a minigame collection with a really unique and striking aesthetic and just watch a bit of the video.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
