For an idea of how influential it was, the original Resident Evil started out as a remake of Sweet Home.
Wow, I did not know that. I saw a shrine for Sweet Home on the site RPG Classics years ago.

It might just be my bad luck with finding people that played the same awesome games that I did, but here is my list of games no one seems to know for some strange reason:

1. Shining Force

2. OddWorld

3. Metal Slug

4. Blasto

5. The Legend of Dragoon

6. Kroc

I grew up with a PC and a PSOne, so... yeah. Like, everyone I know had the N64, so they had never heard of most of those games.

Sweet home was one of those games I always tried to play, but always ended up in a unwinnable situation ;-;,great game none-the-less.Anyone here play Opoona on WIi? I love it for its art and the story, the one thing I really hated where the characters weren't very interesting.

Katamari Damacy, I guess. It doesn't seem like alot of people have heard of it.
La la-la-la-lalala la Katamari Damacy...

I have that song stuck in my head, simply because I can't seem to hit 800m in Make The Moon (I got to 780m once...)

As for obscure games... AZURE DREAMS.  Not the ass GBC remake, the original PSX game.  Is Wonder Boy in Monsterland obscure enough nowadays?

I wouldn't say wonderboy is since it's available on every console as a classic at this point but I LOVED AZURE DREAMS!

I wanted to rebuy it online but the price O.O

Dokapon Kingdom for Wii, and Neopets the Darkest Faerie for PS2. ;) LOL.
I played that last one. Even though it was glitchy as heck, it was fun. and this comes from someone who is addicted to the NeoQuests.

And yes, I don't think many of you know NeoQuest and NeoQuest II, or completed them.

Wonder Project J SNES Japanese only - Cute stat raising RPG about a robot boy made to look human in an attempt to get the two cultures to get along.  They did some different things with the stat raising that made it really fun for me instead of the usual "guess which stat will direct the story the way you want".

Rhapsody (Puppet Princess) PS1 - It's very typical shojou anime in the plot, but for an RPG of that time it was quite unusual.  Especially the strategy style fighting system and ability to recruit monsters to your team, which was my favorite part.  There was a port to the DS but it changed the battles to the standard turned based system so it wasn't worth it.

Other than the internet, I'm surprised and saddened by how many people have never heard of Day of the Tentacle.  I really loved that game.  I want to replay it but it's not being sold anymore.

Muramasa, when you say Rayearth, I assume you mean the SNES game?  There were actually 4 games, the snes one, one on Saturn and two on Game Gear.  I've played a little of all of them even though two don't have english translations and I can't read or speak japanese.  I've played the SNES one more than once, it's pretty fun.  I really enjoyed the armor leveling mechanic.  I'm also playing Treasure of the Rudras right now, I have to say the art is gorgeous.

I found a present among all these lovely forgotten games!

Yes, I was talking about the SNES Rayearth. I actually started to watch the anime because of the game... but never finished it. Maybe after I finish the thing I'm watching now I will go and watch some nice Rayearth (Honoo no... Ken!).

About the Day of the Tentacle, if I'm not mistaken, it is now abandonware, so... that. BTW, just read that there was a remake of it on the works, which was around 80% done. That is... quite unfortunate.

The Shaman King RPG for GBA. I had some fun with it. It also features spirit fusion, a feature I find pretty similar to ShinMegaten's akuma fusion.

Someone mentioned Shining Force. I once confused a game with it on the GBA (there is a remake of the first SF there). It was called Shinning Soul. It ended up being pretty decent, and there was a dragon guy!

Lastly a game from the original GameBoy. Another Bible. A spin-off of Last Bible, which is a spin-off of the Megami Tensei series. The story is pretty simple, your character is one of those paladin-guys protecting a special girl, but it's fun anyway. I did found it fun at least.

Also I suggest taking a look at the Last Bible series too. They're what happens if you take ShinMegaten and give it a fantasy setting. I know that one of the appealing parts of Megaten is the setting. But it's pretty good too, I feel it has some obscure atmosphere.

Anyway, those for now, let's see if I can remember some more <3,

Nippon Ichi's first major series, and now mostly forgotten due to Disgaea.

I still have a copy of the original Azure Dreams, and play it periodically. Amazingly addictive dungeoncrawl.

Terranigma is another rarely discussed fav of mine.

Oh, I loved Brave Fencer Musashi!  Unfortunately me and my brothers only made it about halfway through because the game was burned wrong or something.  Wouldn't play after a certain point in the game.  I honestly can't remember exactly what the circumstances were but we couldn't return it or get a new one for some reason.

Destrega for ps1. Possibly one of the coolest fighting games ever.

Sword of the samurai(kengo 3) for ps2 - possible the best, most realistic sword-fighting game ever, with a difficulty level up there with demon's souls/dark souls.

Another game that I really enjoyed is Original War, a RTS/RPG hybrid where Russians and Americans are fighting each other in prehistoric times.

Other than the internet, I'm surprised and saddened by how many people have never heard of Day of the Tentacle.  I really loved that game.  I want to replay it but it's not being sold anymore.
Not only that, but Loom and The Dig never did get the love they deserved.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
