Games you play through annually.

There are various games that I revisit several times before the year ends, not just once. No matter how much I play them to death, how many secrets I discover and bosses I kill, it's good as new to me. I'll mention the games below and the reasons for me to come back to them.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for its captivating charm and puzzles.

Final Fantasy (any before FFX) just plain good ol' console RPGing.

Pokemon (any) when I get those uncontrollable monster training urge all of a sudden.

Deus Ex because it's 2012 and I'M STILL DISCOVERING NEW SECRETS!!!

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse because X-Men is my favorite Marvel comics series and the game is an action RPG.

Minecraft because I love to craft things :3

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis because of it's awesome music and fun simulation gameplay.

Super Smash Bros. Melee because it's the only fighting game I love to death.

Baldur's Gate Trilogy

Knights of the Old Republic

I may pull out some early Might and Magic every now and then, or a Final Fantasy. I never did finish VIII.

Arcanum's another one - play as an idiot and read your journal - absolutely priceless.

I may be adding The World Ends With You to the list...

Not interested in GW2 at all, i need endgame power progression, not sidegrades.

Also no real PvP player so GW2 doesn't really offer much for me.

I'm usually playing WoW.

I don't play the same games annually but I play FFX every now and then. The game itself is epic but the challenges make it even better (Single character, No sphere grid, etc.). I haven't played in a while though because I'm waiting for the HD remaster.

I also play Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne every once in a while. The campaign's awesome.

Same for me warcraft 3 is the only RTS game ive beaten that doesnt get old

But the HD remaster of FFX?? Is this something that has been confirmed??

It has been confirmed (just a remaster though, not a remake) for the PS3 and Vita but there is no ETA yet. It will most likely come out before March 2013 though. Fingers crossed.

Sweet, Ill have to hold off in playing it and wait for the remaster. Cant wait to see how badass kamari is in current-gen graphocs (He was my fav character in FFX)

There is a WvWvW PvP amongst others for the PvPers with castlesiege/defences as part of it.

In Beta, the story stops you at lvl 20, but I've seen zones for up to lvl 60 which breaks their 20 cap.

No i'm not much of a pvp player and GW doesn't offer the kind of PvE progression i like.

So all in all, it doesn't hold much for me.

No sub surely is something to consider, but not if the game you do pay a monthly fee for actually has what you want.
