Dark souls, Roll, slash, roll repeat....
Actually feeling sorry to say this and it kinda hurts my heart, but.. Tree of Savior is pretty overrated.
Yes, it has really great ingame music and cute graphics.
But the gameplay seems just unfinished and not polished. Not well-thought.
And the performance of this game is awful and I can't understand, how someone would release a game like this, when those issues were known in its beta yet (and not solved).
Still the game receives a great hype from mainly oldschool players, but looking at it impartially, it lacks of some very basics.
put wait a full miniute in between roll and slash and you've got it right.
Five. Nights. At. Freddy's.
Gotta go with Dark Souls on this one. The entire Franchise is just boring to me I guess. It's often just difficult because it's unfair because it's random. Real difficulty is scripted, not cheap enemies that you just run away, attack, run away, heal, attack, ect. It's honestly boring.
BUT EVERYONE LOVES IT BECAUSE IT'S HARD.
anyone who thinks the dark souls series is difficult never played inindo
Or 99% of the games on the NES.
Fallout and Elder Scroll games...
GTA and Red Dead games...
Uncharted and JAK 2&3 games
There are many more but those are the biggest ones that come to mind
and not one those I've ever beat, because they are boring and not FUN to play at all.
I know that I'm going to get some flack for this, but I believe that Call of Duty: Black Ops II & III are overrated. To me they are just a copy and paste version of previous games
The word overrated tends to get associated with bad when actually overrated is a word that concerns decent, descreet or even fairly good games that are hailed as masterpieces. It's unlikely you'll ever see a truly bad game hailed as such.
As for my personal experience, when I think of "overrated", Undertale springs to mind.
I think the term Overrated is the most Overrated thing in this thread.
Used to put down games that a person dislikes for they cannot use there own subject ideas as a way to convince others that the game is bad in there opinion.
Generally used along with other put downs like poor design, artificial difficulty (still don't get how a difficulty cannot be artificial), bad art style, clone and all the other words people use to put down a game they don't like.
For if there is one thing that has no benefit, it is trying to make people hate the things they enjoy (misery loves company?).
I can definitely see why Undertale would be unfavorable to some people, but it's not trash by any stretch of the imagination. It certainly isn't the best game I've played, and it gets REALLY bitchy and preachy about it's message if you try to do a Genocide run, but I just found something endearing about the characters in it and fell in love with the game's soundtrack. Also since I was already a Earthbound/Touhou fan before the game came out, I really was attracted to it's style of "bullet hell meets RPG" battle system. As for the graphics.... if you're using the "shitty graphics" argument to claim that the entirety of a game is awful and beyond redemption, then I think you need to make sure the stick up your ass isn't rubbing against your lungs.
I honestly think some people just use the word "overrated" to make themselves seem intellectually superior and more refined than the common public and portray themselves as some sort of special snowflake. "Look at me, I don't like something popular! Aren't I just super edgy and quirky and independent?! Please agree with me so I can justify my position!"
