Gaming Dreams

Okay we have probably all done this. Your are playing this awesome video game and it feels so real only to wake up and realize it was only a dream. I usually dream about zelda games and mario games and sometimes regular rpgs. The 3d for the dream is breath-taking and blows any system or pc out of the water. Plus you are inside the game playing it as the main character. So what types of games do you dream about?

I'll start once I dreamed about an cool rpg with characters similar to those in a final fantasy or dragon quest title. They sailed on a ship which visited many different locations. The main character and party members really stood out and had awesome back histories along with dialogue. It felt so real I waiting to play it when I woke up.

I used to sleepwalk a lot and according to my brother one night I walked into the game room, turned on the Gamecube, loaded Super Mario Sunshine, and just sat there for awhile before going back to my room. As far as video game dreams, I've often dreamt about making my game, or have had my characters and settings appear in my dreams. Certainly, I hope that happens more while I'm awake as well. XD

Me? Waking up as DoomSlayer, suit up, pick some weapons and blow some demons! Well, literally my favourite dreams. I dreamt it because I watched ads on Youtube where they shows sexy beautiful girls leveling up and changes new sexy armor while walking but the gameplay are lame and I hate them. So, I generated my dream where the sexy girl levelling up and change sexy armors by walking but suddenly she got shots, armor brokes and bleed by my female character name Megumi, suit up as DoomSlayer, holding super shotgun, aiming to the victim's head and say "Your level up and high level sexy armor are pathetic". BOOM! And the song 'At Doom's Gate' by Mick Gordon kicks in!

I once dreamt about one of those full vr games, you know, the kind that only exist in sci-fi where your brain is uploaded? I was plugged in to play the latest Final Fantasy, did the typical wake up in bed start, then the game glitched out and while everyone is paused I notice a man in the rafters who tell me that I need to watch out because there's someone taking things over and reprogramming everything and that if I don't stop him I'll end up reprogrammed too. Then the game glitches again, the guy disappears, and the intro cutscene picks up where it left off. Sadly the dream ended not long after that. I kind of want to do something with it someday.

Wow. You guys are lucky to have such vivid dreams and still remember them perfectly. My dreams are mostly senseless, bland, slow or I don't really remember them. What I do remember though, is imagining (and also "living") some scenes from my games as the main character (he coincidentally shares my name). Not really epic, active scenes, but mostly slow ones. One scene I definitely remember, is the scene where main protagonist (me in the dream) and love interest kissed.
...I probably kissed my blanket so I'm gonna forget this forever now, and (I hope) you will too.

Not necessarily. You don't dream at the deepest level of sleep so having a lot of clear dreams can be an indication of a terrible night's sleep.

Another dream like LOTR, Warhammer, and Warcraft where I dreamt about a land, nation or planet divided 3 main races; humans, elves and orcs. They don't like each other. Human dislikes orcs, orcs dislikes elves, elves dislikes humans and the hatred goes on. Because of the hatred, evil army, coming from nowhere attack the three races. The races are tremble.
After the attack, a human paladin(protagonist) has a great ambition, uniting the races. Saving the elf princess who mastered the marksmanship of archery, aiding the orc who wield battle axe, travel together, forget the racism, uniting the races and fight against the evil.

Usually whenever I have a dream about games it's because I was sick that day and it's a result of the Nyquil. I still remember that time I was sick home and playing Red Alert, then proceeded to have a dream where I was in charge of the allied army, trying to stop the Soviet tank rush.

Medicine induced dreams are weird. The only thing weirder is the ones from sleeping too much in the middle of the day, at least for me.

Many years ago, when the fashion was warcraft 3, one day I played so many hours that later at night I dreamed that I was playing warcraft ... at the morning in a moment my mother shakes my shoulder to wake me because I had to go to school and in a state between dream and reality I replied to her "almost finished the game" ... needless to say that her face was a total wtf

@Sharm My absolute worst dreams happen when I fall asleep in the middle of the day while watching TV/Videos. Stuff from whatever I was watching interjects itself and depending on what that is it can get really bizarre.

Dreams about playing 2D Sonic are not too rare for me, but I guess it's because it was my first videogame experience and I played those games a lot in my childhood. I used to dream fairly frequently about some MMOs I played, probably because that was all I played when I was into them. Nowadays, they rarely show up in my dreams anymore. One other game that often makes an appearance is Minecraft, though it's generally more about a huge explorable world than digging tunnels and crafting stuff in my dreams, lol. I like these dreams a lot because it seems like there's always something to explore, and I usually have some kind of base-like place that feels like home.
I also often dream about game-like stuff, like having superpowers and fighting against monsters, or being able to fly, or do all sorts of crazy stuff that you'd expect to see in a videogame.

@Sharm Yeah my meds cause me to dream more often and they are lucid dreams. Though it can be both good and bad. The good dreams feel so real but bad ones feel more scary and are too real.

@Milennin That's what makes these dreams so cool. The world is large and fully explorable and anything can happen. I once or twice dreamed I was using Mario's cape and flying the same way though my favorite is using Goku's and flying or going Super Saiyin still it's always twisted and weird but fun none the less.

I was going to start a thread because I've been dreaming about javascript.
I dream about writing books too.
Similar to these posts, I dream about making games.

The dreams have memories of a past way too long for a 9 hour sleep.


Then I wake up and it's gone. Maybe it's where I get my ideas.

When play FPS for too long, mainly corridor based games like Doom, i tend to keep seeing the game while i'm half-sleep... does that count?

I don't really dream about games, but I do this weird thing where it's some kind of meditating, and everyone thinks I'm asleep, but I actually feel like I'm in my own game. Like, as a character or something. It's messed up, but I can still hear everything fine.

It wasn't too long ago that the a-hole protagonist of my current game appeared in my dreams and smacked me one for making him a failure with the ladies.

A MMORPG where RMT is allowed and I can make a honest living from it. To be even perfect, it could be a VR game where you can also feel the aromas, tastes, hunger, pain, pleasure, etc, a true VR that mimics reality.
This game only exists on the novel The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor so far...
