So while I slowly march towards 30 posts or whatever the requirement was to unlock the business section for commissions, I wanted to ask a question.
Making MV games is just a hobby to me but I enjoy doing it on and off. My last project went for 600-700 hours before my over ambition overloaded me into not enjoying it anymore. I learned a lot of lessons though and want to start my next one for one of my close friends who has me write stories for him as my current hobby. As a change of pace, I'd like to make some of them into games just for fun. So here is my question: Would it be cheaper to get generator pieces made or just custom sprite sheets?
For context, they are anthro characters and the only community anthro source I could find does not add anthro pieces beyond just faces. Now obviously it sounds like generator pieces would be best considering I will need multiple actors in the detective story I want to do. But if generator pieces are very expensive, I was thinking just getting the two main characters commissioned and just use the face only free generator thing that I found. Ideally I'd like generator pieces and just have the faces commissioned so that the important characters stand out.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
