I need to get ID of a selected skill via script call which then would trigger a common event that will change certain variables based on what u've chosen.
Is it possible?
depends on when you want to execute that script call
why not simply trigger the common event directly by skill effect?
please give more details on what you really want to do instead of just how you want to do something unknown and we should be able to tell you how to proceed.
Because I don't want to create a separate common event for each skill. All of the skills will trigger the same one. Then it calculates which have been used and applies effects accordingly.
a lot of people do - or never have even looked at it.
which is one reason why I usually check when someone asks for script calls without details, because a lot of things are easier done by events instead of scripts...

I've been on a really good streak lately of working on my game for at least a little bit each day. Even if I only complete one small task, it is still a much better pace than what I was maintaining previously!
