Hi all,

I'm not able to utilize my battle system anymore after removing the Yanfly Battle Engine Core Plugin. I initially combined it with Some Random Dude (known as SRDude on Youtube)'s Status Battle Customizer, only to find the status windows on the very top of my screen, like in the screenshot below:

However, to fix it, I tried to remove the YEP_BattleEngieCore.js plugin from my game's files to use RPG MAKER MV's default plugin, but when I did so, I get the following error when I try to run a battle:

There is no getting rid of this error without having to put back Yanfly's Battle Engine Core javascript plugin again. Is there anything I can do? I don't want to have to start my project all the way over again because of this issue from removing the plugin.

Thanks!

I would assume you just removed it from your files and not from the plugin manager, remove it there or turn it off.

Hi glaphen, I even tried to remove it and turn off the plugin in my plugins manager, but still the same error. It seemed to go by default to the YEP_BattleEngineCore.js plugin every time I did battle testing ever since I added that plugin.

However, I was able to fix the error (and so far the only way I know of) is by deleting everything in my current project's js folder, copying everything in a js folder of a new project, and pasting it into my current project. The error was resolved this way, which "resetted" how the battle system core engine worked in terms of which plugin to go to first.

There are a few ways how this could have happened.

1) you loaded an incompatible older savefile
Whenever you change something in the plugin manager, you have to start a new game on next playtest because the savefiles will usually contain references to the now removed plugin or are missing references to now added plugins, and only a new game can correct that.

2) another plugin requires the removed plugin
several of yanfly's battle-addons only work with the battlecore installed, and there are even some non-yanfly plugins that require it

3) removed the plugin in the wrong way or incompletely
as the poster above mentioned, if you delete the file without removing it from the plugin manager the game will still contain references to it.
You should not delete the files in the plugin folder - even if it is still there it will not be loaded if removed from the plugin manager, and if it is still there you can experiment with adding it again without additional work - you only should clear up the files on deployment (and then the engine offers to do this for you)

Also note that you need to save your project after making changes in the Plugin Manager, otherwise those changes will not be reflected during test. Play-test forces a project save, battle-test does not. :)

If you are using any of Yanfly's other battle plugins, you're going to need to keep the battle core plugin.

Are you sure the weird issue isn't just because you've thrown plugins together without setting up their parameters? They could be using the same default variable or switch, or maybe one is using a variable or switch that you're using for something else in events. Did you configure them both properly when you added them?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
